About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking more employees. The Swedish Prison and Probation Service in Kalmar is expanding and currently has several ongoing projects and new establishments ahead. The establishment of a Class 3 prison, a new remand facility with the goal of being operational in 2027, and a new correctional facility expected to be completed in 2030. The expansion creates significant opportunities, and numerous new employees within various professional categories will need to be recruited in the coming years. Job Description As an HR Specialist in the Kalmar Operations Area, you will work both independently and as part of a team to contribute to operational goals, maintain a good work environment, and enable engaged leadership. Your primary responsibilities will consist of local coordination, case handling, administration, and follow-up within personnel matters. You will work at the local level with matters such as workplace environment issues, personnel matters, employment contracts, and file management. The role also includes supporting HIA coordinators (mentors for newly hired personnel) in the operational work of local onboarding and reception of new employees within the operations area. You will also collaborate with other functions within recruitment, coordinated staffing, and training centers. Together with the local management team, you will handle and investigate HR matters and provide administrative support on HR-related issues. This may include preparing materials for management team meetings and safety committees, as well as assisting with various follow-up and coordination tasks. Qualifications You have the ability to work independently and in a structured manner, and to plan, organize, and prioritize your tasks efficiently. You take responsibility for your processes and drive them forward. Furthermore, you are service-oriented and attentive and collaborate well with others through strong communication skills, both internally and externally. You adapt easily to changing circumstances and objectives and maintain a professional approach. We are looking for someone with: Academic degree in HR or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant Experience in HR case handling Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish Good experience with the Office Suite B-category driver's license It is also advantageous if you have: Relevant experience from other public sector activities Experience with payroll processes and payroll determination within the state sector Experience in coordination and planning of workplace environment work Experience with negotiation work according to the Co-determination in the Workplace Act Other Information The Swedish Prison and Probation Service has chosen to remove the personal letter requirement and replaced it with selection questions relevant to the position.
