Group Manager at AFRY Transmission Lines
AFRY AB · Full-time
Solna, Sweden
Company Description AFRY offers services in engineering, design, digitalization, and consulting. We are dedicated experts in energy, industry, infrastructure, and more, creating value for future generations. AFRY has a global reach with deep roots in the Nordic region. Together, we accelerate the transition to a more sustainable society. Job Description Do you want to take on a key role in the energy transition and create conditions for continued rapid expansion of regional and transmission networks? Our business is growing steadily, and we are once again recruiting a group manager. Transmission Lines at AFRY works with power lines; both overhead lines and underground and submarine cables. We have projects in all phases (from preliminary studies/localization/permits to design and contract support). AFRY has a large and experienced consulting group specializing in regional and transmission network lines, and we continue to grow. Our customers are primarily major Swedish distribution network companies, but we also work for network companies in other Nordic countries and other actors in the energy sector. We work in teams here to solve our customers' challenges. As a group manager with us, you have personnel responsibility, where you support and coach the development of both individuals and the group as a whole. Your work includes resource planning, recruitment, staff development and operations, bid management, and more. Participation in projects is a natural part of your workday, as we see it as an advantage for you as a group manager to work close to your team, which provides both engagement in the operations and a great opportunity to develop both the business, the group, and individuals. The extent of project work varies with role and over time. Your work takes place in close collaboration with other managers in the organization. We currently have seven group managers at Transmission Lines, located in different parts of the country. One of the managers has taken on a different responsibility within the Swedish T&D organization, and we are now seeking a replacement, positioned in one of our major locations (Solna, Uppsala, Göteborg, Trollhättan, or Malmö). Qualifications We place great emphasis on your personal qualities and your potential to develop as a manager here at Transmission Lines. Because if we find the right match, we believe that you will both thrive and make a difference with us at the same time! We are looking for someone who believes in creating conditions for others to succeed. You build trust by being clear, present, and inclusive, and you are motivated by seeing both individuals and teams develop. At the same time, you have a strong results focus and the ability to create structure, direction, and engagement around common goals. To thrive in the role, you also need to enjoy collaborating with many different people and building trusting relationships over time. You are responsive to different needs and see the value of close collaboration with customers, colleagues, and employees alike. What knowledge and experience do you need to bring? Must-haves: Higher education or university degree in engineering, civil engineering, or related field. Experience leading or developing teams as a manager, project manager, or engineering project manager. Experience working with power lines in regional or transmission networks. Good knowledge of Swedish, as the language is used frequently both within AFRY and with our customers. B driver's license. Merits: Experience from a consulting role. Experience with formal management responsibility (personnel, budget, and results responsibility). About the Recruitment Process If we see that your background, knowledge, and experience could be right for us, we will use tests as a next step in identifying your potential. That is, how well you match the parts of the requirement profile that deal with personal qualities and problem-solving abilities. The tests also help us ensure a more accurate and fair recruitment process. Since the position may work within security-classified areas, drug testing and security clearances may be required before employment can begin. For all recruitments at AFRY, ID verification, reference checks, and education verification are always conducted as a standard.
