Vallbacksskolan has approximately 550 students in grades 7–9 as well as in adapted primary school grades 7–9. We also have a smaller teaching group focused on autism spectrum condition (AST) for students in grades 7–9. JOB DUTIES Are you ready to make a difference for students who need special support? We are looking for an engaged professional who wants to work with a small group of students in our AST program. With us, you get the opportunity to use your pedagogical skills and your ability to create clarity and predictability to give each student the right conditions to develop. As a teacher in Vallbacksskolan's autism spectrum group, your area of responsibility will consist of educating and supporting students in their social and academic development and challenging them to take their own initiative, develop their interests, and take responsibility for themselves and others. The focus is on creating the best conditions for each student and offering a positive and developmental school experience. You work to remove obstacles and difficulties in the learning environment and to develop alternative learning environments and learning tools. When the student's day is predictable and comprehensible, their chances of success increase. Working in this group means you have overall supervision and work close to students throughout the school day. Your duties include, among other things: • Teaching the autism spectrum group in grades 7-9 in social studies subjects. • Being a mentor and having class responsibility. • Responsibility for mapping, planning, implementation, and evaluation of lessons according to goals and guidelines. • Collaborating with other educators, student health services, guardians, and external partners. We are looking for you with: • Teacher certification with the authority to teach grades 7-9 in social studies subjects in primary school. • Knowledge of the primary school curriculum. • Good skills in working with digital tools in teaching and planning. • The ability to express yourself well in the Swedish language both verbally and in writing. • Experience working with students within the autism spectrum and other neurodevelopmental disorders in school. It is a merit if you have training in autism spectrum and other neurodevelopmental disorders, such as Studio 3, e-autism, or similar. Training in low-arousal approaches is desirable. To succeed in this role, we see that you: • Have the ability to lead, inspire, and motivate students and create a safe and pleasant learning environment. • Set high but realistic expectations for students and support them in reaching their full potential. • Build good relationships and create trust with students, guardians, and colleagues through a positive and unpretentious approach. • Use low-arousal approaches and have the ability to handle situations related to students with special needs. • Are flexible and adapt your working methods and efforts based on students' and the organization's needs. • Work in a structured manner, plan well, and prioritize effectively to achieve good results.
