Ref: 20262106 Job Responsibilities We are now seeking a primary teacher with a focus on after-school programs and home and consumer science instruction at Örtagårdsskolan's adapted primary school! You will work in the after-school program of an adapted primary school and be responsible for a classroom with students in grades 1-5. The classroom is staffed by both primary teachers focused on after-school programs and student assistants. The classroom consists of eleven students and three adults. As a primary teacher in our after-school program, you will plan and deliver instruction so that students develop in our after-school environment. Based on the curriculum and governing documents, we together create a safe and stimulating environment in the after-school program that aims to strengthen our students in both their academic development and personal growth while providing them with meaningful free time. In the after-school program, we also strive to promote diverse social contacts, community, and strengthen group relationships. During school hours, you will teach our students at the adapted primary school in home and consumer science, and then plan, implement, evaluate, and assess the educational work based on the adapted primary school's governing documents. You teach students in subject areas and course content. You collaborate with other school staff to create a good learning and work environment. The learning environment in adapted primary school is made accessible through explicit pedagogy and differentiated instruction. Visual supports are used in learning situations and social contexts, and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) is used based on both individual and group needs. Qualifications It is of utmost importance that you have knowledge of and experience working in adapted primary schools. The position includes teaching both in school and in the after-school program. We are looking for you who are a certified primary teacher with a focus on after-school programs and credentials to teach in after-school settings. Credentials to teach home and consumer science (HKK) are advantageous. You may also be a certified primary school teacher with credentials to teach home and consumer science. If you are also trained as a special education teacher or special educator, this is advantageous. In the recruitment process, we place great emphasis on personal suitability. You have good insight and knowledge of the after-school program's and school's governing documents and apply these in your daily work. Furthermore, you have strong didactic and pedagogical abilities that allow you to independently lead and organize your work to create a productive study environment and good learning atmosphere for our students throughout the day. Your teaching is modern and based on evidence-based research, you develop your work, and with good familiarity and practice you work effectively with relevant digital tools. Since our students need support with their communication, we want you to be experienced in using sign language support, TAKK. It is important that you have experience using various forms of visual supports and alternative learning tools in your teaching. In the adapted primary school, you will meet students with ID (intellectual disability) and neuropsychiatric disability, NPD. You therefore need to have good knowledge of students with, among other things, autism and ADHD and how to work with low-stimulus approaches. As a person, you are calm, stable, and responsive and have the ability to create a calm environment for the students. You are experienced in working independently and making decisions, but can also collaborate within a team. Working with our students means that no two days are the same. Students' daily condition determines what demands and activities work for them. You therefore need to be flexible and have the ability to adapt your working methods to the needs of the activities. About the Workplace Örtagårdsskolan is a primary school (grades F-9) and has an adapted primary school (grades 1-9). In total, we have approximately 480 students. The adapted primary school consists of 52 students who study subjects or subject areas. The after-school program at the adapted primary school has approximately 20 students, and our short-term supervision service has 10 students.
