About the Job Uppsala Enskilda Skola is an independent, foundation-driven elementary school serving grades PreK through 5. This means any profits are reinvested directly into school operations. We have 255 students and 37 staff members. The school has two parallel classes from PreK through grade 3 and one class each in grades 4 and 5. Each class has a lead teacher working with at least one support staff member. After-school programs are an important part of our school, with many students participating daily. We place great emphasis on relational approaches and use low-affect management. You will encounter an engaged team with high expectations for both students and colleagues, working together to create a safe, structured, and accessible learning environment. For the remainder of the 2026/2027 school year, we are now seeking an elementary teacher for grade 4 in a co-teacher role (assistant teacher) at 80%. The class will have 35 students and be led by a lead teacher with overall responsibility. The class also has a dedicated support staff member. Your Responsibilities As a co-teacher/assistant teacher, you will work in close collaboration with the lead teacher and help create a functioning and accessible teaching situation for the entire class. Your duties include: teach a smaller student group (approximately 6 students) in a more adapted setting teach the whole class alongside the lead teacher take responsibility for the entire class during certain occasions, such as when the lead teacher has planning time contribute to planning and follow-up of instruction support students in the classroom to create a productive work environment and foster participation participate as additional staff during practical-aesthetic lessons help supervise during breaks and handle certain practical tasks in the school day The work is characterized by collaboration, flexibility, and shared responsibility for student development and well-being. Who Are You? We are looking for a certified teacher with credentials to teach at the intermediate level. We see that you: have experience teaching grades 4–6 have a strong ability to create structure, a productive work environment, and clarity in the classroom employ a relational approach and can build secure relationships with students are flexible and unpretentious in your work thrive in collaboration and can work closely with colleagues It is a merit if you have specialist teacher or special education training or experience working with students with special needs.
