The position is placed in the Department of Community Development, which works on municipality-wide issues such as strategic and physical planning, administrative authority within environmental and construction matters, and regional development. The department also has overall responsibility for the municipality's technical services including waste management, water and sewerage, streets, roads, and parks. The department operates on behalf of the municipal executive board and the community development committee. 1 position(s). DUTIES As a traffic and street engineer, you work with traffic and street matters within Gnesta Municipality. Your duties include, among other things, deciding on excavation permits, traffic arrangement plans, local traffic regulations, paving planning, street lighting, parking enforcement, and applications for use of public areas. In addition to administrative authority, the position includes assisting the street manager with matters regarding project planning, procurement, and strategic planning related to traffic and street issues, as well as other assignments within the Street Unit. The position also includes administering and managing documentation, service letters, and fault reports. The traffic and street engineer is often a representative and expert in relation to other units within the department, within the municipality, the political leadership, cooperation partners such as the municipality's businesses, as well as other authorities and stakeholders. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you as a driven traffic and street engineer with initiative and decision-making ability, while also being receptive to considerations and prioritizations. You work well with others and express yourself well in speech and writing. You work for all road users' needs regarding traffic safety, accessibility, and mobility. An important part of your work is making considerations and prioritizations between different interest groups. The position requires relevant education with a focus on traffic, community planning, and community development, or other education that the employer deems appropriate. Since the position has a broad area of responsibility, we would like to see equally broad work experience from similar positions or assignments. You need to be a confident person with several years of experience from similar work. You should have good collaboration skills and be able to work independently. Commitment to residents and residents' needs, as well as the ability to see both the big picture and capture details. A Class B driver's license is required. Desired personal qualities include self-motivation, stability, organization, and experience managing multiple cases simultaneously. Ability to make and communicate decisions. Good judgment, clarity, and attentiveness. Experience from a politically managed organization is a merit. Personal suitability is an important selection factor when filling this position. Employment type: Permanent position. Duration: Start date according to agreement. A 6-month probationary period may be applied. Interviews will take place on an ongoing basis.
