The Department of Economics with Statistics is part of the School of Business, Economics and Law at University of Gothenburg and has approximately 100 employees from many countries. Teaching is conducted in economics and statistics and currently has approximately 800 students registered in the department's courses and programs. The department brings together a diversity of researchers, several of whom are internationally renowned economists. The strongest research areas are labor economics, behavioral economics, development economics, environmental economics, and financial economics. More information about the department can be found on our website http://www.economics.gu.se/. The department is now seeking three guest lecturers for teaching and supervision. Job Duties The duties of a guest lecturer consist mainly of teaching at undergraduate and advanced levels as well as supervision of bachelor's and master's theses. We have needs for teaching in courses in statistics, empirical economics, development economics, and econometrics. Teaching and supervision will primarily be conducted in English. The work also includes planning and preparation of teaching, course administration, student contact, and grading of examinations and other assessment tasks. Teaching in other subject areas within economics may also be relevant during the year. Qualifications The positions are intended to strengthen the research connection of the education programs and contribute to increased internationalization. We are therefore seeking active researchers in economics with research interests related to the relevant teaching areas. Own research relevant to education and international experience are merits. A doctoral degree in economics or equivalent is required for employment as a guest lecturer at the department. Strong ability to teach and supervise in English is a requirement. You must have previous experience teaching economics and be pedagogically skilled in order to communicate with the department's students in a clear and pedagogical manner. It is a merit if you have taught similar courses previously. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability. For this position, it is important to have good collaboration skills and you should be able to work both independently and in a group as you will collaborate with other teachers. In the selection, an overall assessment will be made of the applicants' ability to perform the described duties.
