The Recreation West unit operates several open venues for young people ages 10-20 where we need hourly recreation assistants:
Stenhusets is an attractive space for youth ages 13-20 and offers many creative activities, primarily in culture such as music, studios, and events.
Actionpark is a skatepark of nearly 2000 square meters with bowls, ramps, ledges, and obstacles for everyone who rides skateboard, kickbike, inline skates, and BMX. Everyone is welcome at Actionpark. All people, regardless of age or background, should have the opportunity to pursue their sport, culture, and lifestyle.
Plikta is a supervised play area in Slottsskogen with open recreation activities for children and youth ages 9–14. We assist with questions, lend out bikes, games and play equipment, and organize recreation activities.
Guldheden is newly opened where we conduct pop-up and outreach activities.
All venues work to provide a rich and meaningful recreation experience for young people.
Work Tasks
Our venues are open to everyone and provide value for the city's residents, the region, local residents, and tourists. Each location has its unique character, and staff work to organize, support, and inspire free activities. Through clear influence and participation processes, the range of offerings can vary, including opportunities to participate in activities, borrow equipment, and receive coaching in leadership. We also actively work on inclusion and accessibility to attract more visitors.
You can work in our different venues when regular staff are absent or when additional support is needed. Work hours vary and may include daytime, evening, and weekend work when the venues are open. The availability of work opportunities will vary. During school holidays, we have extra activities and programs running. In your application, you can describe how available you are for work with us!
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
Ongoing or completed recreation leader training or other training that the employer considers relevant for the job.
Creativity - you come up with new ideas and perspectives on the job and for solving problems.
Flexibility - you can adapt how you work when things change. You can quickly shift your perspective and attitude and see opportunities in change.
Responsibility - you take responsibility for your own and shared work tasks.
Good ability to collaborate and work independently.
It is an advantage if you have previous experience working with children and youth, preferably in an open venue.
We particularly value experience and skills in skateboarding.

For this position, the person we hire will need to provide an extract from the criminal record register.

About Us
We in the Social Services Department, Centrum, work every day to improve the everyday life of residents in central Göteborg. Our assignments in the social field are many and range from authority enforcement to promotion and prevention initiatives. We work locally but also have activities that serve the entire city to meet our residents' needs.
