Job Responsibilities The education is delivered on behalf of Employment and Adult Education in Gothenburg. As a teacher in this position, you will instruct future hairstylists and, to some extent, barbers. This is a student group that, as adults, chooses to train or retrain for a new profession in hairdressing. The education is structured over 15 months and leads to the opportunity to take the Hairdressers' Association first examination and work as a hairstyling apprentice. In your role, in addition to teaching all vocational courses, you will also provide mentoring and oversee APL (students' work-based learning). As a mentor, you build relationships with students and take overall responsibility for their learning and development toward the goal of becoming a hairstyling apprentice. You have experience and a strong ability to collaborate with the industry, salon owners, and supervisors, as part of students' education is conducted in workplace settings. In collaboration with school leadership and colleagues, you contribute to creating favorable conditions for students to thrive, develop, and achieve their goals. As part of the team, you become instrumental in ensuring students reach their full potential both in school and in their professional practice. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is trained and certified as a hairstyling instructor to teach vocational courses included in the Swedish National School Agency's national package for hairstyling apprentices. As a teacher, you are passionate about helping students achieve their professional dreams. You contribute to creating favorable learning conditions and support them in structuring their work. You are skilled at differentiating instruction and finding individualized solutions so students can reach their goals. You are confident in your professional role and skilled at building positive relationships. You meet students with curiosity, interest, and encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement. You have patience and understanding for each individual's different circumstances. As an employee, you are flexible, self-directed, and a loyal team player.
