Your placement is the City Management Office's budget and finance unit, which is part of the Financial Management department. We work with governance and monitoring of the city's economy and the municipal board's operations, as well as financing of the municipal group. We are looking for you who want to work with us to make a difference. At the City Management Office, we are centrally located in Borås with proximity to Borås Central Station and Travel Center. Responsibilities As a management controller with us, you have a central role in financial monitoring, operations management, and participate in developing our management processes in the department. The role involves working closely with department management and you are a key person in ensuring sound financial management, efficient governance, and quality decision-making materials for both service management and the political level. An important part of the assignment is to develop and manage the department's governance processes, which involves work in the system support Stratsys as well as ensuring that planning, monitoring, and reporting take place in a structured and appropriate manner. As a management controller, you work both strategically and operatively. You drive, coordinate, and develop processes within economics and operations management in the department and serve as qualified support to managers and leadership. Your main responsibilities are to: Coordinate the department's work with budget, monitoring, forecasts, and economic analyses. This includes preparing financial statements, interim reports, and annual reports. Lead and develop the department's processes for operations planning, governance, and monitoring. Prepare decision-making materials, reports, and presentations for management and political bodies. Be process leader in the department for Stratsys. Contribute to the department's oversight duties. Coordinate the department's work with internal controls and risk analyses. Conduct investigations and analyses within operations and economics. Contribute to developing working methods, digitalization, and data-driven governance. Collaborate with controllers, economists, and other key functions within the municipality. Qualifications You are expected to have a strong ability to collaborate and cooperate, both within your own area and within the organization as a whole. You are driven and committed and are expected to contribute to development. You are curious and development-oriented with an interest in digitalization and operations development. You need to be able to work independently but also collaborate with others within the organization, and you have an understanding that work takes place in a politically governed organization. Solid experience with qualified controller work in the public sector or other large organization. Solid experience with financial planning, monitoring, and analysis. Experience with operations management. Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing. Good knowledge of Excel and digital analysis and operations support tools. Meritorious: Experience working with Stratsys. Experience with politically governed operations. Experience with internal controls and risk management. Knowledge of change management and process development. Experience with Power BI or similar analysis tools.
