Description At the City Environment Administration, approximately 1,000 people work with comprehensive responsibility for Gothenburg's public spaces and overall accessibility. The Administration is responsible for places that Gothenburg residents use and visit every day. As one of the city's four city development administrations that, collectively, work on the city's sustainability. The Outdoor Environments and City Life Department is responsible for managing, maintaining, and developing the city's green and public environments, such as forests, trees, nature, lakes and watercourses, as well as parks, bathing areas, playgrounds, splash pads, outdoor facilities, public art, and a zoo. The department also works with site development, for example summer streets and summer and winter squares, and is responsible for the allocation of public spaces, market trading, and other use agreements. Additionally, the department handles traffic coordination at major events, unauthorized use of city land, and collaboration on safety and site development work. Responsibilities We are now seeking two nature areas managers, one for the geographic area Centrum and one for the geographic area Hisingen. As a manager, you will work with the management and development of nature areas, including nature reserves, lakes, watercourses, and seas, as well as smaller facilities within your geographic area of responsibility. You are responsible for developing strategic plans and documents for how the city's nature areas and facilities should be managed and developed over time, based on applicable laws and regulations as well as the city's goals and guidelines. You set quality levels for operations, plan for maintenance, and participate in the administration's investment work. As a land and facilities manager, you represent the city in a range of forums and issues. You collaborate with associations and citizens, respond to inquiries and feedback, and participate in internal and external working groups within your geographic management area and on nature conservation matters. You will, among other things: Manage and develop nature areas, nature reserves, lakes, watercourses, and seas, as well as smaller facilities. Develop strategic plans and documents for management and development. Set quality levels for operations and plan for maintenance. Participate in the administration's investment work. Represent the city as a land and facilities manager in various forums and contexts. Respond to consultations, inquiries, and feedback from citizens and other stakeholders. Participate in internal and external working groups on nature conservation and within the geographic management area. Qualifications Your Profile We are looking for someone who has relevant higher education in biology or ecology with a focus on nature conservation, or other education and experience that the employer deems equivalent. You have experience working with the management and development of nature areas and enjoy combining strategic work with practical fieldwork. We are looking for someone who has: Higher education in biology or ecology with a focus on nature conservation, or other education and experience that the employer deems equivalent. 2–5 years of experience with equivalent assignments that the employer deems equivalent. Class B driver's license. It is advantageous if you have: Experience with the management and development of nature areas. Experience working with outdoor recreation facilities, park environments, or similar. As a person, you take responsibility and drive your work forward independently.
