All permanent staff will be offered work clothes. If you are a newly qualified preschool teacher, you will be assigned a mentor to help you get a good start in the profession. In a beautiful natural setting, near Kvarnarpssjön in Eksjö, is the newly built Jordgubbsbacken preschool, which opened in August 2023. The preschool is built in wood and characterized by nature, both outdoors and indoors. Educators and children have been involved in the process together with the architect, property owner, municipal gardener, and preschool management. Jordgubbsbacken consists of six departments on ground level. The floor plan is optimized for community, collaboration, accessibility, supervision, privacy, and recreation. The older children eat in the restaurant Tallriken, and the younger children have meals delivered to their departments. In the center of the preschool is an atrium that invites creative and other creative activities, but also provides calm and quiet spaces. On the upper floor are staff areas that contribute to a good work environment and provide excellent conditions for carrying out the preschool teacher role. Profile and Work Approach The preschool's profile is Health-Promoting Outdoor Environments and Sustainable Development. To plan the outdoor environment, we have drawn knowledge from research projects and collaborated with the municipality's municipal gardener. The outdoor environments offer rich opportunities for discoveries where children's curiosity and learning are stimulated. We grow in raised beds and make use of what we harvest. The preschool has a kitchen with an associated preparation area to enable us to offer food from farm to table in accordance with our profile. The youngest children sleep/rest in spaces designated for outdoor rest. Our pedagogical approach is based on seeing the child as competent and believing that meaningful encounters can contribute to development and learning. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The role as preschool teacher involves special pedagogical responsibility for planning, implementing, documenting, and evaluating education based on the School Act, curriculum, and activity plan. Offer each child safe care and promote all children's development and learning. Ensure that each child has real influence over work methods and content. Ensure that the content, design, and implementation of development conversations align with national goals. Contribute to ensuring that the preschool can offer an environment that inspires, develops, and challenges children's learning through meaningful activities. Work with a professional approach to your role as outlined in the curriculum. Vary your working methods to work with the team to develop an enjoyable and educational environment that lays the foundation for lifelong learning. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are a licensed preschool teacher. As a preschool teacher, you have good knowledge of the governing documents that form the basis for preschool work. You are responsible and engaged in systematic quality work. You have a positive approach, good collaboration skills, and you communicate from a solution-focused perspective in every interaction with colleagues, children, and parents/guardians. You are open to learning from others and contribute your own knowledge and experience. Your pedagogical relationships are built on responsiveness and dialogue. You focus on the child and treat everyone with care, kindness, and respect. We require that you have experience with and competence in differentiated instruction and the ability to create an accessible and inclusive learning environment that meets children's different needs and conditions.
