The Planning and Research Support Division Grants Office at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU GO) is seeking an experienced, competent and engaged research coordinator who is proactive, well-versed in external research funding and motivated to make a real difference for researchers at the university. About the role As our new research coordinator, you will primarily work with SLU researchers who coordinate applications for collaborative project grants, such as Horizon Europe Pillar II, MSCA Doctoral Networks and European Partnerships, with flexibility to support other initiatives as needed. You will provide advice, guidance and support to researchers coordinating SLU applications in developing concepts, reviewing application drafts and suggesting improvements. You will also offer support across SLU with information, capacity building and communication activities. More specifically, you will, together with colleagues: Support researchers seeking external research funding, primarily by providing constructive feedback on application drafts and helping to shape clear and compelling narratives that align with call guidelines. Disseminate information about upcoming funding opportunities, proactively identify potential applicants and encourage them to apply. Design and deliver seminars and workshops focused on funders, funding opportunities and grant writing, and contribute to events in collaboration with other SLU units. Contribute perspectives on external funding strategies, including those discussed by SLU's strategic team for external funding. Represent Grants Office and SLU in internal and external networks. Support Grants Office communication and outreach activities, for example newsletters and web pages, and develop self-study materials. This list is not exhaustive and may change depending on SLU's and Grants Office needs. There is also room to suggest new ways of working and initiatives, based on your personal skills and interests. The position may occasionally require travel within Sweden and abroad. Ability to understand complex calls and research funding applications and to provide clear advice and guidance to researchers. Experience with Horizon Europe, Pillar II. Knowledge of and understanding of national and international funding sources, including their guidelines and mechanisms. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Confidence, adaptability and ability to work independently and collaborate with others. Ability to prioritize your own workload under pressure and to meet deadlines while maintaining high quality. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop professional relationships and networks at all levels within and outside the university. Excellent English skills, both written and verbal. University degree. Desirable Research training and/or research experience. Experience working for a research funder or as an expert reviewer of applications or projects. Experience with MSCA Doctoral Networks, European Partnerships or other collaborative project funding programs. Knowledge of EU research policy. Experience writing or contributing to major research grant applications. Experience in information and communication work, such as newsletters, web pages or blogs, or organizing information events. Experience designing and delivering training courses. Knowledge of how AI can be used appropriately, effectively and responsibly in relation to research applications. Swedish language skills, spoken and written (SLU's language policy requires staff to be able to understand information in Swedish after four years of employment). We provide expertise, support, advice and information on external research funding to researchers, administrators and university leadership. Our friendly, helpful and professional team has broad experience and expertise, enabling us to offer strategic and operational support both before and after grant awards. Our work focuses on advising on grant writing with constructive feedback, budgeting, administration and project management, but we also work with information and capacity building. We are located on SLU's main campuses – Alnarp, Ultuna and Umeå – but work together to support the entire university.
