The Department of Public Health and Caring Sciences is a department within the Faculty of Medicine at Uppsala University. The department currently has approximately 200 employees and an additional 150 researchers are affiliated with the department. The activities consist of 11 research groups and education is conducted at all levels. Uppsala Health Economics (UHE) is a specialized unit of health economists at the Department of Public Health and Caring Sciences, Uppsala University. Our team has expertise in applying health economic methods to health issues, including RCT-based and model-based economic evaluations, as well as using register data to evaluate health and economic effects of health and care interventions. Our health economists lead several projects across various areas, including mental health, child health, public health, precision medicine, and innovation in health and care. We collaborate with clinics to achieve the best possible results. We have several national and international partners and engage in commissioned work for healthcare providers, municipalities, regions, and foundations. We are now seeking a Research Assistant in health economics to strengthen UHE's growing activities. Job Responsibilities We are looking for a health economist/research assistant to work on the following projects: Health economic evaluations of interventions in mental health and child health Economic burden of mental ill health Health economic evaluations of various innovation and care development projects The projects require knowledge in health economics, statistics, econometrics, and epidemiology. The work tasks include analyzing data from both clinical studies and Swedish registers regarding consumption of societal resources, costs and health outcome data, as well as calculating the cost-effectiveness of various interventions. Qualification Requirements For eligibility, the following is required: A Master's degree in health economics, or in a related field that is relevant to the work tasks. The candidate must master statistical analysis and use of R or STATA. Able to learn new research methods and have strong abilities to express yourself in both speech and writing. Able to work in a team and demonstrate creativity in solving research questions. Very good ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Good organizational ability and experience working in a structured and independent manner. We are looking for someone who thrives in a research environment with varying tasks and rapid changes. Desirable/Meriting Qualifications It is meritorious if you have: Experience of research projects and scientific writing. Basic knowledge of Swedish is desirable.
