SPIDER (the Swedish Program for ICT in Developing Regions) is an independent center at the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences (DSV), Stockholm University, which focuses on digitalization of international development cooperation. We are now seeking a senior analyst in telecommunications regulation in a project where we promote digitalization and inclusive societies through capacity development in telecommunications regulation in sub-Saharan Africa. Project Description We are now seeking a senior analyst in telecommunications regulation in a project where we promote digitalization and inclusive societies through capacity development of the sector in sub-Saharan Africa. Then we believe you will be a great fit for our team! Responsibilities The role as researcher includes: Responsibility for research in telecommunications regulation. Responsibility for analyzing telecommunications policies. Lecturing on telecommunications regulation. Providing advice to our partner organizations. Ensuring that research reports are subject-matter specific at the detailed level. Compilation, analysis, and dissemination of results from SPIDER-supported initiatives. Supporting the development of SPIDER's network. Representing SPIDER's program in various national and international ICT4D activities. International business travel will occur. Qualifications A researcher is employed primarily for research and must have completed a doctorate or have a foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a doctorate. Assessment Criteria In the appointment, special emphasis will be placed on relevant subject knowledge and scientific competence. Furthermore, emphasis will be placed on documented experience in research and qualified analytical work in telecommunications regulation, digitalization, development work, and/or global digital development. Special emphasis will also be placed on the ability to translate research and analysis into policy-relevant knowledge, advice, and capacity development for different target groups. Language skills, especially in languages spoken in sub-Saharan Africa, will be of particular importance. Emphasis will also be placed on experience working in international and inter-institutional environments, good collaboration and communication skills, lecturing abilities, and the ability to independently plan, conduct, and communicate research and analytical work. Personal suitability will be considered. About the Position The position is full-time and limited to 12 months. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date by agreement.
