The Community Development Office works in the areas of physical planning, environment, surveying, energy advice, food, health protection, and nature conservation. We also handle building permit matters where urban environment, design, and preservation are important elements. The Survey Unit is part of the City Engineer Operations located at the Community Development Office and is an important part of the work to develop Kalmar Municipality. City Engineer Operations works with surveying matters, measurements, various types of map production, GIS analysis, and more. The Community Development Office also includes the Planning and Building Permits and Environment divisions. Welcome to us! 2 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We are now recruiting two surveyor officers to the municipality's land survey authority who, with competence and commitment, can contribute to Kalmar's development and growth as a city and municipality. As a municipal surveyor officer, you will participate in the entire community development process—from planning to implementation. You will work with handling surveying matters both in urban and rural areas, including both matters that are part of implementing detailed plans and matters outside planned areas. Surveying work involves both fieldwork and office work. You will also participate in the land survey authority's other tasks, such as providing service and advice to the public and municipal administrations, and developing our working methods. The work is developmental and varied, where you take great responsibility and work together with several experienced colleagues. We support and help each other in our work. We have close collaboration within the organization, and it may therefore also be relevant for you to participate in joint projects in the department. QUALIFICATIONS You are educated as a civil engineer in surveying and property development, a higher education engineer with surveying specialization, or have other education and experience that the employer considers equivalent. We would like to see that you have several years of experience in surveying case handling and property registration, as well as experience from participation in planning work. Experience in property valuation is an asset. If you have recently completed your studies, you are also welcome to apply. We want you to work independently and take responsibility, be quality-conscious, results-oriented, and enjoy varied work tasks. You have an ability to build good relationships and collaborate. We place great importance on personal qualities. The work requires the ability to manage a work process and make decisions. You should be collaboration-oriented and have an ability to share your knowledge. Additionally, we need precision and an interest in developing the operations. In your role as a surveyor officer, you will have many contacts with customers, property owners, and authorities, which places high demands on service mindedness and a very good ability to express yourself in Swedish both verbally and in writing. Driver's license (category B) is required. Professional development is important to us. If you are new in the role of surveyor officer, you will be able to participate in courses and seminars for new surveyors. Much of the learning takes place in daily operations.
