We are now searching for a Formulation Chemist to join the Oriflame team. Purpose of the Role The Formulation Chemist develops safe, effective, stable and consumer-relevant products from initial brief through industrialization. Working with a good level of independence, the role translates consumer, business and technical needs into robust formulations and product solutions while collaborating closely with cross-functional partners. The role owns assigned development projects and escalates complex or high-risk topics when appropriate. What will you do? · Translate product briefs into clear technical development plans and develop new products or optimize existing formulations. · Plan and execute laboratory work independently, including raw material selection, prototype preparation, evaluation, troubleshooting and systematic documentation of results. · Design and assess stability and performance studies; interpret data, identify risks and recommend technically sound next steps. · Select ingredients and technologies based on performance, safety, regulatory, sustainability, cost and supply considerations, in partnership with relevant experts. · Own the technical delivery of assigned projects, resolving formulation, processing and scale-up challenges throughout development. · Build strong cross-functional relationships with Product Development, Marketing, Claims, Safety, Regulatory, Packaging, Procurement, Quality and Manufacturing partners to deliver agreed product benefits, timelines, quality and cost targets. · Prepare accurate formula, specification and technical documentation in line with internal quality systems, good laboratory practice and applicable regulatory requirements. · Monitor consumer, market and technology trends and contribute to innovation and continuous improvement activities. · Share technical knowledge and best practices to support team development and capability building. Adaptability, resilience and a constructive response to changing priorities or experimental challenges. A strong interest in innovation, product development and delivering high-quality consumer products. Your background and qualifications · University degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. · Several years of hands-on formulation and product development experience, preferably within a consumer goods, personal care, cosmetics, healthcare or related industry. · Demonstrated ability to develop, optimize and troubleshoot formulations and to connect formulation choices with product performance and manufacturing requirements. · Practical experience of stability testing, packaging compatibility, scale-up and technology transfer to manufacturing. · Working knowledge of raw materials, formulation principles, experimental design, quality systems and regulatory compliance. · Experience working in a cross-functional and international environment is considered an advantage. · Confidence using laboratory equipment and digital systems for experimental records, data evaluation and technical documentation. · Professional written and verbal communication skills in English.
