About Us Nilsbuss is a family-owned bus company operating in Småland. We operate line services, school transportation, local transit, and charter services with a fleet that includes buses and other vehicles from brands such as Mercedes, Setra, Ford, Neoplan, and more. We are now seeking a mechanic with comprehensive responsibility for our vehicles in the Vimmerby area. About the Position We are looking for someone with a background in mechanics who wants to take on broader responsibility for our vehicle fleet in the Vimmerby area. This role combines hands-on workshop work with planning and administration – you will manage both the wrench and the calendar. In the workshop, you will perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs – everything from chassis, bodywork, and interior to engine and drivetrain. You will also work with aftermarket systems such as Wi-Fi and payment systems. Major repairs and contractual service intervals are handled by external workshops, but you will plan and manage these. Your Responsibilities • Perform maintenance, servicing, and repairs on buses and other vehicles • Troubleshoot and fix mechanical and basic electrical issues • Plan and coordinate service and workshop visits with external providers • Procure spare parts and consumables • Document and monitor vehicle status • Work with the traffic coordinator to ensure vehicles are available for all scheduled routes daily • Maintain order and cleanliness in the workshop • Serve as a technical resource in the area Who Are You? You have formal vehicle technical training and work experience as a mechanic, preferably with heavy vehicles. You are comfortable with basic vehicle electronics and have good computer skills – experience with diagnostic equipment and work order management is a plus. You are fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written. As a person, you value quality, organization, and attention to detail. You are flexible, collaborative, and cost-conscious – and you want to contribute to positive workplace development. Requirements • Vehicle technical training • Experience as a mechanic • Knowledge of maintenance procedures for heavy and/or light vehicles • Good computer skills • Driver's license, at least category B • Swedish, both spoken and written Desirable Qualifications • Experience with heavy vehicle mechanics (bus/truck) • Category D license • Professional bus competence certificate • Experience with diagnostic equipment and work order management Practical Information • Full-time position, permanent • Working hours: Monday–Friday, 07:00–16:00.
