By carefully matching children with experienced, competent, and thoroughly vetted family homes, we ensure that each child receives holistic care and a strong foundation for their development. Our work involves close collaboration with social services, schools, healthcare providers, and other key stakeholders to create long-term security for the children.
We are now seeking an engaged and experienced family home consultant for the Uppsala County/Stockholm County/Västmanland County/Örebro County region. The position is office-based, but there is an opportunity for remote work when the operations allow it.
Responsibilities
As a family home consultant with us, you will have an important and varied role with responsibility for:
· Recruiting and vetting new family homes: Take responsibility for identifying, interviewing, and vetting family homes that can offer a safe and stable environment. The work includes home visits, document collection, investigation, and ensuring necessary background checks.
· Support and supervision: Provide continuous support and guidance to foster and family homes to assist them in their work and help them manage challenges that may arise when working with placed children.
· Collaboration and care planning: Work in close collaboration with other stakeholders, including schools, healthcare providers, and social services, to ensure comprehensive support for each child. You participate in care planning and network meetings and follow up to ensure agreed-upon care measures are implemented.
· Follow-up and documentation: Continuously monitor the child's development and the family home's situation through regular meetings and documentation of the child's well-being.
Qualifications and Requirements
We are looking for someone who has:
· Education and experience: A degree in social work, behavioral science, or equivalent education, with experience working with foster home placements or work with children and young people.
· Knowledge: Good knowledge of the Social Services Act (SoL) and LVU, as well as experience working according to BBIC is an advantage.
· Personal qualities: Ability to work independently and in a structured manner, while maintaining a high degree of flexibility. You are communicative, have strong collaboration skills, and a respectful approach in interactions with both children and foster/family homes. You are comfortable managing changing circumstances and thrive in a role that requires thoroughness and structure.
· Practical requirements: Valid driver's license (Class B) and ability to work evenings and weekends.
