Trygga Familjehem i Sverige AB is now seeking families and single individuals who want to help children and young people aged 0-20 years. We are looking for both foster families and emergency care families.
Being a Foster or Emergency Care Family
Being a foster family is interesting, challenging, and above all rewarding! It's about opening the doors to your home, your family, your everyday life, and offering security, guidelines, rules, and most importantly plenty of joy and heart, plus a willingness to share your life.
This is of course a major responsibility and requires a clear commitment to success. This commitment must be shared by all family members, and agreement on what the assignment entails is very important. Of course, everyone is affected when a new person moves in and becomes part of the family. NOTE: A single person can also be an emergency care or foster family.
Most important is that you have a genuine interest in helping a child or young person build a better life. You must also be able to work with all parties involved around the placed child or young person, such as school, social workers, family care consultants, and others.
To manage a placement, you need to have a bit extra of everything: space, time, and ability! Our requirements for you to begin a foster family assessment include:
That you do not appear in the police crime and suspicion register, the social insurance agency register regarding longer periods of illness, the enforcement agency register, or the social register in the past five years
That there is a spare bedroom that can be offered to the placed child, without anyone in the family sacrificing their own bedroom. Note that shared spaces do not count as a bedroom.
That your residence is permanent, meaning you do not sublet, are a lodger, or similar. The home is fully furnished and occupied.
That you are in good health and able to work
That you have stable income and financial support
That at least one of you has time for meetings with social services and our family care consultants
That you do not have any major upcoming changes in your life, such as moving, longer trips, new studies, pregnancy, or similar
That you speak Swedish
Trygga Familjehem Supports, Guides and Educates
As a foster family you will receive Trygga Familjehem's basic training for foster families. The purpose is to make the placement as good as possible for the placed child and for the foster family. Our consultants are always nearby for ongoing guidance and training to the family during the placement. Your family care consultant visits you regularly; you have close cooperation in everything concerning the placed child, such as implementation plans and authority contacts. You have 24/7 phone support for any questions. Trygga Familjehem's approach and approach is to be available, provide support, help, ideas, and motivation!
Good Financial Compensation
Opening your home to a child, young person, or young adult is not about money, but about helping someone who needs a safe and stable life. However, you should still have solid compensation for the work you do.
Compensation is paid in two parts: an expense allowance of approximately 6,500 kr/month to cover food, clothing, travel, etc., and a work fee for the work you perform.
The fee varies from 26,000 kr/month and up depending on the complexity of the placement.
