Malmö kommun · Full-time
Kalendegatan 1, Malmö, Sweden
Ref: 20262070 Responsibilities We are expanding our services and are now seeking a family therapist for our home-based family treatment team. We work with families with children ages 0-12 years experiencing complex psychosocial challenges that affect interaction and attachment between children, parents/caregivers. We have just begun a project within the section connecting family treatment and foster care, and we hope that you are interested in participating in this project. The work takes place primarily in the home/foster home or in the child's immediate environment and together with other key actors in the family's life. The goal is to establish a safe and positive relationship between caregiver and child. Treatment interventions vary in intensity, and therapists are flexible regarding when and where they meet with families. Family treatment may include one or more of the following: Parent/family sessions Practical support Interaction-based treatment (e.g., Marte Meo) Trauma treatment (CPP and TF-CBT) Parent training (e.g., COS) Network work We maintain close contact with a small number of families at a time, often over extended periods. We work systemically and trauma-informed, with focus on secure attachment and the family's and network's resources. Because work takes place in the home/foster home, children are seen and more actively involved. The role requires great flexibility in meeting family needs, both regarding times and availability. This means work sometimes occurs outside regular office hours. Family treatment can be conducted independently or in pairs. Always in close collaboration with colleagues, coordinators, and your manager, with considerable freedom to direct your own assignments. Qualifications We are seeking someone with a degree in social work or equivalent university/higher education degree in social work (180 ECTS). You have experience in family treatment, preferably working with families with children ages 0-12 years. You have experience working with families facing serious psychosocial challenges and are accustomed to collaborating closely with other actors. Training in relevant methods (for example, Marte Meo, COS, PYC, CPP, TF-CBT) within child and family services is meriting. For this position, experience from foster care is meriting. To thrive as a family therapist with us, you must be flexible—both regarding work content and work hours. The role requires that you are responsive to the needs and wishes of the families you work with, and that you can quickly adapt to changing circumstances and situations. We also see that you are self-motivated, persistent, and experienced at planning, prioritizing, and managing your work independently and together with colleagues. You are confident in your professional role and have the ability to maintain focus and act effectively even in difficult situations. For this position, we seek someone interested in developing family treatment work and support for foster-placed children. You have strong knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, and knowledge of other languages is meriting. About the Workplace The Department of Individuals and Families is divided into two divisions with different mandates and focus areas: the Services Division and the Assessment Division. The "Home-Based Family Treatment" section, under the Services Division, is now seeking a new family therapist. Following recruitment, the section will consist of 12 family therapists, one collaboration coordinator, one coordinator, and one section manager. You will join a team of experienced, creative, and curious family therapists committed to deepening and developing collaborative treatment work. The team is characterized by strong engagement and a supportive, positive, and learning-oriented climate. With us you will receive orientation, internal and external supervision, method development, wellness benefits, flexible working hours, and the opportunity for flexible vacation scheduling.
