We're looking for a social and customer-focused design engineer who thrives in close dialogue with customers, suppliers, and internal teams. You build relationships easily, identify needs, and translate them into smart technical solutions. WORK RESPONSIBILITIES As a design engineer for our client, you will develop and improve the company's products with a focus on innovation, functionality, quality, and cost-effectiveness. The role contributes directly to the company's strategic goals by driving development projects from idea to finished product, in close collaboration with other functions, customers, and suppliers. We welcome both those at the beginning of your engineering career and those with more extensive experience. Your overall work responsibilities will include: Execute and ensure progress in activities within the engineering process to meet customer needs regarding adaptation/modification of existing products as well as some new design work. Execute and drive activities in the product development process for new products and further development of existing ones. Ensure that products meet requirements for quality, safety, functionality, durability, and legislation. Participate in prototype development, testing, and verification. Contribute improvement suggestions and drive innovation and improvement efforts. Represent R&D in cross-functional teams and in customer and supplier dialogues. PERSONAL QUALITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS You have post-secondary education in mechanical engineering, product development, or equivalent, as well as experience in product development and/or mechanical engineering. You are familiar with product development processes, prototype work, and verification, and enjoy working cross-functionally. In this role, you are an important link between customers, suppliers, production, and internal teams. Through clear communication and strong relationships, you drive development forward and identify needs and opportunities. With a holistic perspective and understanding of the product's lifecycle, you work proactively, solve problems early, and contribute insights that strengthen both projects and the organization. As a person, you work with a customer and solution-oriented approach, with good structure and analytical ability as important parts of your work style. You have a strong sense of responsibility and an inner drive, which enables you to both initiate and complete your tasks to a high quality. You value receiving and sharing knowledge. It is a merit if you have experience from the manufacturing industry, knowledge of material selection, and mechanical strength. Experience with Monitor and/or Inventor is a merit, but not required.
