Now we're looking for you who want to think big, new and differently together with us. Bredängsskolan is a multicultural F–9 school with approximately 450 students and 25 different native languages. Approximately 30 students are enrolled in the adapted elementary school. The program includes five classes: two classes for older students and three classes for younger students. In most classes there are both students studying subjects and students studying subject areas. There are also students who study according to the elementary school curriculum in individual subjects. Collaboration between the regular school and adapted elementary school is an important part of our operations. The school is located in Bredängs center with proximity to both nature and culture. The school's vision is: Everyone will succeed. To achieve this, the school actively works with: • Language development methods • Digital tools in instruction • AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) • Clear structures in instruction • Positive and respectful treatment The goal is for all students to succeed in reaching their personal goals and develop as far as possible. What we offer Your role We're looking for you who have a genuine interest in and experience working in adapted elementary school. As a teaching assistant, you work with students who have intellectual disabilities (ID) and possibly other diagnoses. Together with teachers, you create conditions for students' learning and development during the school day. Teaching takes place primarily in smaller groups based on each student's needs. The role also includes work within after-school care and short-term supervision (KTT) before and after school and during holidays and study days. The facility is open weekdays between 06.30 and 18.00. This may therefore include opening and closing the facility. Job responsibilities • Support students in their learning and development. • Participate in and lead planned activities. • Work with smaller student groups. • Manage care, for example: o assistance with bathroom visits o support with meals o help with dressing and undressing • Promote students' independence. • Participate in swimming instruction and support students in the water. Your competence and experience We're looking for you who: • Have experience working with students in adapted elementary school. • Have education or knowledge in AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication). • Have knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA), which is a merit. • Have a low-affect approach. • Can handle stress well. • Enjoy working in a team but also independently. • Can participate in swimming instruction in water. • Speak and write Swedish well.
