We are seeking several unit managers for our testing units in the Western Region. With us, you will have an important assignment where you work with current societal issues that are affected by what happens in our surrounding world. This is a management position for you who thrive working in an operation characterized by continuous change and development. Your Workplace Region Väst is one of three regions and encompasses the counties of Västra Götaland, Halland, Örebro and Värmland with operations in Göteborg, Halmstad, Mölndal, Vänersborg and Örebro. Within the region, all types of authority case categories are handled; citizenship, work, student and residency permits as well as asylum applications. Within the region's administrative process units, appeals of cases are handled in court. Migrationsverket's secure detention facility is located in Mölndal. In Mölndal/Kållered, we also have our reception and return center with asylum processing that works with people seeking protection in Sweden. Your Assignment As unit manager, you will be part of the section's management group together with other unit managers and the section manager. You lead an engaged unit in continuous development, where improvements and long-term thinking are a natural part of daily operations. It requires good and close collaboration with other unit managers and units to succeed. As unit manager, you are responsible for leading the operations at your unit where goal achievement, a good work environment and development through continuous improvements are prioritized highly. As a leader, you create conditions for a developmental and positive work climate that provides opportunities for employees to develop in their roles and carry out their assignments in the best possible way. You take advantage of and strengthen the drive that exists among your employees and through participation, engagement and focus on our applicants. You contribute to continuous development of operations from your unit's and region's holistic perspective. As unit manager, you are responsible for personnel, budget and work environment at your own unit. In your role as unit manager, you are responsible for having a holistic view and, together with your colleagues, working to ensure that the authority evolves and fulfills its assignments. You will have a meaningful and socially important management assignment in an organization characterized by development, change and great responsibility. You will lead a work group with high competence and strong commitment in a workplace where participation, collaboration and development are central. In our work as civil servants, in addition to high demands on good judgment, there are also requirements for high security and confidentiality awareness. You Who Apply Have Academic education of at least 180hp (previously 120 hp) in combination with work experience that the employer assesses as relevant for the position. Current management experience within state operations. Experience leading and developing operations in change with good operational results. Good knowledge of expressing yourself well orally and in writing in Swedish and English. Swedish citizenship It is Meritorious if You Have Experience with a process-oriented approach. Knowledge of administrative law and experience with administrative law case handling. Management experience from Migrationsverket in combination with relevant management training (e.g. Curious about Leadership). Since certain management positions may be classified as security-sensitive, Swedish citizenship is also required for these. Prior to employment, a security clearance with background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) will be conducted for these positions.
