The City Services Administration has an important and exciting mission to deliver, coordinate, and develop services for residents and administrations in Mölndals stad. The administration has just over 550 employees and is organized into four operational areas: meals and facilities management, water and recycling, city maintenance, and staff and customer services. The Water and Recycling operational area works toward a sustainable future by ensuring clean water in both taps and waterways and promoting more sustainable consumption with reduced waste. We do this by developing, maintaining, and improving our operations. About the role As unit manager for water and wastewater distribution, you have overall responsibility for leading and developing the unit that daily delivers essential water and wastewater services to residents of Mölndals stad. Your assignment includes responsibility for budget, work environment, and personnel, and you drive the strategic and operational work forward in line with the city's goals and vision. In this role, you are responsible for leading the unit's water and wastewater distribution operations with a team of approximately 15 employees, including operations managers, plumbers, operations technicians, and measurement technicians. This means planning, following up, and developing operation, new construction, and maintenance of water and wastewater lines in-house. You drive and oversee projects within the distribution area, from operations and maintenance initiatives to ongoing service, while ensuring that work is performed in accordance with applicable safety regulations and environmental rules. An important part of the assignment is coordination, where you collaborate closely with other units, operations, and contractors. You handle environmental matters, ensure that work environment plans are met, and are responsible for planning, scheduling, staffing, and follow-up in operational systems. The position may involve work with security-classified information and requires security vetting and register checks. On-call duty may occur. You are part of the management group for Water and Recycling and report to the operations manager for the area. Qualifications We are looking for a confident, clear, and solution-oriented leader with several years of experience leading employees and operations. You have the ability to create structure and engagement and to drive development and change. You have relevant technical higher education in, for example, process engineering or civil engineering, or alternatively other education and work experience that is deemed equivalent. You have experience from a technically complex operation, such as water and wastewater, process industry, construction, energy, or other technical infrastructure. Water and wastewater experience is a merit but not a requirement. You have good technical understanding and the ability to understand complex technical systems and facilities. You have experience with budgeting, financial follow-up, and work environment responsibility. Experience with procurement, contracts, contractor operations, and contractor law is a merit. Experience from public sector operations is an advantage but not a requirement. As a person, you are decisive, collaboration-oriented, and confident in complex situations.
