We are now seeking a unit manager for the IFO Investigation Adults department, where you will have the opportunity to lead and develop the operation together with dedicated colleagues. Job Duties In this role as unit manager, you lead four sections with four section managers and approximately 60 employees. The unit is responsible for conducting authority-based social services with a focus on financial assistance and services for homeless individuals. You are responsible for operations, finances, and working environment, and have overall responsibility for driving and developing the operation. The assignment focuses on some of Malmö's most vulnerable residents, where economic hardship is often combined with homelessness and other complex social challenges. The role includes leading a work group that carries out the city's eviction prevention work and an operation that conducts work using the IPS method (Individual Placement and Support) for individuals who are far from the labor market. An important part of the role is to develop the operation based on changes in legislation and national reforms, including those related to the benefits reform and comorbidity reform. You translate changed requirements and conditions into clear working methods and create conditions for the operation to meet future needs. You work closely with your managerial colleagues with similar assignments and are expected to actively contribute to collaborative work, where you together ensure the overall picture and create conditions for a cohesive operation. Fundamentally, the assignment is about leading an operation that conducts authority-based work with high quality, legal certainty, and professional conduct. You ensure high accountability and service level with Malmö residents' best interests in focus and create conditions for employees to perform qualified work for the target group. Qualifications We are seeking someone with: A degree in social work or equivalent university/college education Experience working as a manager within municipal social services with responsibility for social work and authority-based services focused on adults Experience working with financial assistance, homelessness, substance abuse and addiction, and domestic violence, either through direct work in the field or by leading operations working with these issues Good knowledge of current legislation and changes resulting from the benefits reform and comorbidity reform Ability to communicate well in Swedish, both spoken and written It is advantageous if you have: Experience working with development, change, and quality improvement Experience collaborating with external actors such as Region Skåne, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, and the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. You have good computer skills and experience with digital operational systems. You express yourself well orally and in writing and have the ability to explain, inform, and guide employees and colleagues. About the Workplace The units within the IFO Investigation Adults department work with social services and qualified investigation work characterized by good conduct, well-founded decisions, and high legal certainty. The social services are facing great pressure for change, not least due to new legislation, and the administration is now developing its organization to meet future needs and Malmö residents' demands for a modern and efficient social services. As a unit manager within the IFO Adults Investigation Department, you are part of the department's management group together with the department manager and seven other unit managers. Three units in the department have a primary focus on financial assistance and self-sufficiency. Three units focus on coordinated assistance provision for individuals with complex social issues such as barriers to self-support, homelessness, substance abuse and addiction, and various forms of somatic or mental illness. In addition, there is a Reception Unit and a unit for Support and Coordination for the department's various operations. Together in the management group, we set the direction for the operation and develop the strategy for how the department will carry out its assignment and achieve the administration's goals.
