The Functional Support Department within social services provides support and services to both adults and children/youth. Here we work to create an inclusive and safe society. The current position is responsible for two LSS group homes, Fjällsippan and Forsheden, as well as a support and service housing facility. These operations provide housing with special services for people who need support in their daily lives. The work is based on LSS objectives of self-determination, participation, and as independent a life as possible. Staff work with individualized and pedagogical approaches based on each person's needs, abilities, and wishes, supported by IBIC. The working approach is characterized by low-affective communication and motivational conversations (MI). You report directly to the department manager, and your physical workplace is at Vändpunkten together with your other unit manager colleagues. Job Responsibilities As a unit manager, you hold a key role in our organization. The work involves responsibility for operations, finances, personnel, and work environment within budget frameworks and delegation. You are responsible for day-to-day operations and work toward clear goals set by the social services board. Planning, management, and follow-up are conducted according to current directives and guidelines to ensure quality and results. You will be part of the department's management group and work closely with other managers and staff to create successful solutions. With support from experienced educators, administrators, and cross-municipal functions, you will have the best conditions to succeed. You lead and develop the operation to achieve high quality and work from a user-focused perspective. Qualifications We are looking for someone with relevant higher education or university degree with experience in leadership or management, preferably within LSS or similar operations. Within the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare Municipality is an administrative municipality for Sámi, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is a merit in applications for employment in Gällivare Municipality. Working Hours/Duration We offer a permanent full-time position with flexible working hours agreement. Requirement for employment – extract from the police criminal record register.
