The Social Services Office in Norrköping Municipality is a dynamic and committed organization with the mission to create security and quality social services for those we serve. We work with support and assistance for children, teenagers, and adults in various life situations, with a special focus on individuals' needs and right to an independent life. Short-term residential stays under LSS (the Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) are a service that both adults and children can receive. The services aim to provide environmental change and recreation, and also serve a respite care purpose. Norrköping Municipality's short-term residential homes are 24-hour operations, adapted to meet the varying needs of different individuals. We are now seeking unit managers for short-term residential homes with focus on both children and young people, as well as adults. Your responsibilities As a unit manager, you have a varied and meaningful role where you get the opportunity to make a real difference. You are responsible for leading, developing, and monitoring the operations with a focus on quality, legal security, and individuals' needs. The role includes close collaboration with colleagues within the operational area and with other departments. As a unit manager for short-term residential services, you have a broad coordination mission and work together with, among others, schools, habilitation services, IFO, VPF, and other stakeholders based on individuals' needs. For children and young people, this also includes collaboration with school principals and other school contacts as well as with families. You drive development and improvement initiatives based on both political goals and the organization's needs and resources. The role includes personnel, work environment, and budget responsibility, where you work to create stable and sustainable work teams and ensure that operations run smoothly in day-to-day work. As a manager in Norrköping Municipality, you are a role model and lead based on trust-based leadership. You foster participation, promote an open collaborative climate, and utilize your employees' competence and ideas. Your focus is always to deliver high-quality support to those we serve. Who are you? You have a university degree as a social worker with a focus on behavioral sciences, or another education that the employer considers equivalent. You have previous leadership experience, and we see it as an asset if it is in a management role. Furthermore, it is beneficial if you have experience working under LSS, and we appreciate experience working in a politically governed organization. The role requires that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. You are a confident and self-aware person with the ability to give direction and adapt your leadership style based on individual or situation. You coach and develop your employees so they can reach their full potential. You are also collaboration-oriented and understand the value of good cooperation, both with internal and external contacts. Short-term residential services is a dynamic field where the children, young people, or adults staying at the unit and their needs can vary over time. As a unit manager, you therefore have the ability to plan and prioritize based on the changing needs of the operations. Staffing and scheduling matters are an important part of the role and require both foresight and flexibility.
