About the Operations We are now seeking a unit manager for our Case Management and Political Support Unit. The unit provides support to the regional director, the region's administrations, and operations in legal matters as well as operational management support. We have overall responsibility for the region's case management including case distribution, deviation management, and Platinum administration. The unit also has responsibility for political support where committee secretaries play a central role. In addition, the unit has strategic responsibility for the archive area and is home to the administrator for R7e-archive. New is that strategic and region-wide responsibility for information security is being transferred to the unit. As a manager in Region Västernorrland, you represent the employer and exercise leadership grounded in strong self-awareness and characterized by honesty, openness, sense of responsibility, and personal courage. The unit manager's role is central to the region's continued development of case management. This is a permanent full-time position with start date as soon as possible according to agreement. Work Tasks As unit manager, you report directly to the function director for planning and political support and are part of their management group. You are responsible for leading and coordinating the unit's work in accordance with the operations' overall mission and goals, and you lead a team working with case preparation, meeting administration, and document management. The region's lawyers are also located in the unit. The role involves assisting the function director within your area of responsibility and this entails collaboration with regional leadership, requiring high integrity, strong legal competence, and the ability to navigate a complex political organization. Your work tasks include, among other things: Lead the unit's operations and staff Ensure that the region has legally sound and efficient case management Contribute to the development of procedures, working methods, and digital tools Provide support to the function director and regional leadership in administrative and strategic matters in accordance with the unit's mission Qualifications We are seeking you who Holds an academic degree in political science, law, or similar education that the employer deems equivalent Has very good knowledge in law, especially in municipal law Has work experience as a manager or leader in public sector operations Has several years of experience in qualified administrative work, preferably in a leadership role Has excellent knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing It is meritorious if you Have advanced education in leadership, project management, or similar Have documented work experience of close collaboration with political or regional leadership Have work experience leading in complex matters Have work experience as a lawyer or political scientist Have work experience with budget and personnel responsibility Have good knowledge of English in speech and writing To succeed in this role, we believe you have these personal qualities Self-driven Goal and results oriented Collaboration skills Structured Leadership Region Västernorrland With approximately 7000 employees and over 200 professions, we at Region Västernorrland are responsible for several of the operations that are most important for residents' ability to participate in society.
