The Department of Technical Services is Trelleborg Municipality's enabling department. We are a safe, secure, and value-creating resource that works proactively, efficiently, and sustainably together with those who live, work, and spend time in Trelleborg Municipality. The department's five divisions are responsible within various areas for planning, managing, and developing public space. We do this, for example, by maintaining the municipality's public areas, waste management and sewage handling, water supply, and infrastructure. We also deliver internal services such as operation and maintenance of the municipality's facilities, facilities services, systems administration, and IT support. The Workplace The Department of Technical Services is responsible for services to other departments in Trelleborg Municipality in the form of IT, facilities services, transportation, workshops, and local supply, as well as the service unit's maintenance of the municipality's sports facilities. The department also handles matters in the municipality regarding water supply, sewage handling, public land, traffic infrastructure, road maintenance, market trade, and waste management. Internal Services is one of several departments within the Department of Technical Services, with the mission to deliver services in the form of facilities services, transportation, vehicle maintenance, and maintenance of the municipality's sports facilities. Facilities Services operates according to a client-provider model and covers all municipal facilities across all departments. Our mission is to ensure that all facilities are clean, fresh, and pleasant. We place great emphasis on using work methods that are environmentally friendly, ergonomic, and that protect staff, the environment, materials, and furnishings. The Facilities Services unit consists of 94 facilities workers, two administrators, and three unit managers. Together, we create clean, safe, and welcoming environments in the municipality's operations. Now we are looking for an engaged unit manager for the facilities services unit for a temporary position (one year) during the regular unit manager's absence. Job Responsibilities As a unit manager, you lead and develop a geographically defined facilities services area. You are responsible for operations, daily management, budget, personnel, and work environment. The temporary position gives you a broad and valuable insight into a management role where you get to work closely with both employees, customers, and management colleagues. The role also includes planning and coordinating orders, maintaining ongoing customer contact, and ensuring that our deliveries maintain high quality. You create conditions for participation, development, and work satisfaction through clear, present, and inclusive leadership. Qualifications For the role of unit manager, you must have experience in supervisory positions within facilities services and service. Your educational background should be from vocational college or other post-secondary education with a focus on service, logistics, or similar. Furthermore, it is a requirement that you have good IT skills and experience working in administrative management systems. The position requires a category B driver's license for manual transmission, as we work throughout Trelleborg Municipality. In your work as a unit manager, which largely involves communication both written and verbal as well as other administration, the position requires that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language both written and verbally. It is meritorious if you have education in Facility Management or other management training. Further, it is meritorious if you have experience with budget work and cost monitoring. We also consider it meritorious if you have experience working in some kind of management system. Training such as PRYL, SRY, or other equivalent training is also considered meritorious for the position. We are looking for you who are a confident, clear, and communicative leader.
