Description The Dependency and Acute Psychiatry department serves individuals with substance use disorders with or without concurrent psychiatric issues. The operations are organized in care pathways with outpatient and inpatient services working closely together around patients. The operations consist of several specialist units and some clinics are run in collaboration with personnel from social services. Psychiatric emergency clinic is also part of the department. LARO operations are provided at three locations in Gothenburg. We are now seeking a unit manager for LARO Clinics 1 and 2 Högsbo. LARO is an acronym for medication-assisted treatment for opioid dependence. The foundation of treatment is medication-assisted therapy complemented by psychosocial and psychological interventions. Collaboration with municipalities is an important part of treatment, as the patient's social situation is crucial for treatment success. The unit manager supervises the following professional categories at the clinic: nurses, care assistants, social worker, psychologist, and medical secretaries. The administrative organization is under review and management of medical secretaries may change. Responsibilities As a healthcare unit manager, you have personnel, budget, and workplace environment responsibilities. You are expected to drive the development of the unit and work toward a good working environment where employees feel community, wellbeing, and opportunities for growth to ensure the best possible care for our patients. In your role as unit manager, you are also part of the Dependency and Acute Psychiatry leadership team, where you are expected to take an active role in developing the department. You may also be assigned responsibility for broader areas across the entire operation. The position is broad with many contact points and offers good opportunities for development, both in your professional role and as a person. The position involves a time-limited five-year management assignment with a permanent employment contract in your base profession. Qualifications We are looking for you with relevant higher education or substantial professional experience. Academic background such as degree, master's, or doctoral education is advantageous. Experience from psychiatric acute care and collaboration with other agencies (social services and correctional services) is beneficial. It is meritorious if you have worked as a manager for some years and have experience driving change and development initiatives. You have a natural ability to build relationships, show others respect, and can create participation and utilize others' ideas. Based on the department's goals, you are expected to set clear goals for the unit and staff and to communicate and follow up on goals in a clear and structured manner. The work requires quick decision-making ability, courage, systematic approach, and planning skills.
