Disability Care Services in Umeå Municipality aims to be a resource that, through proximity and collaboration, unlocks and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life. Our operations are beautifully located in the newly built Tomtebogård area near Nydalasjön. An area that offers opportunities for activities year-round such as outdoor gym, summer café, swimming area, ski trails, mini golf, fishing and much more. We are now seeking several engaged and dedicated support assistants to join our team, working together to provide our service users with a safe home environment and a meaningful life. Your Work Tasks In your work, you guide and support people with physical, mental, and intellectual disabilities in their daily lives. You work to ensure the individual is engaged in a functioning everyday life and has meaningful leisure time and/or activities. The work includes hygiene and care work, heavy lifting and transfers as well as regular household tasks such as cleaning, laundry and cooking. Your work will require excellent attention to detail. You will support service users in various activities such as exercise, swimming, cinema visits, and playing games. In your role, you will daily plan, implement, document, follow up, and evaluate interventions both independently and in collaboration with others. This places high demands on your administrative skills and your ability to plan and structure work. You also need to feel confident working with computers, as this is a natural and daily part of your tasks. Since the operations are still being developed, you are also expected to participate in creating and establishing structure and routine in the organization, and then actively work with it to ensure the residents' security and prevent the risk of aggressive behavior. At the same time, you are expected to be flexible, think on your feet, and handle unexpected situations. The job places high demands on professionalism and commitment. Work hours are scheduled for day/evening shifts with on-call duties every other weekend. Coordination with other operations occurs. - Heavy tasks occur; moving aids must be used. - A cat is occasionally present in the workplace, so you should not be allergic. About You You have a good ability to collaborate and it is essential that you have a professional approach toward service users and other stakeholders around our users. You are pedagogical, engaged, and have a willingness to share our values and work toward set goals as well as work on continuous improvements. As a person, you are driven by a desire to see development and change and work accordingly. Your work style is characterized by flexibility, continuity, and security. You should have great patience and be able to work toward long-term goals without losing focus. In order for you to communicate with service users and their networks, write and access care documentation, and receive medication delegation, you must have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing. You need to be able to communicate clearly and directly with the users, while standing firm on decisions that have been made. Sometimes the pace can be high, so it is important that you remain calm, handle stress well, and think quickly when needed. In this position, it is essential that you as a person are solution-oriented and do not get stuck in situations. You should also have a positive view of challenges and enjoy working with them. As a person, you should also be resourceful and enjoy planning activities outside the residence and carrying them out together with the service users. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability. Requirements Care and Health Program, Children and Youth Program, Social Work Program or other education that the employer deems equivalent Experience working in healthcare Merits Education and/or experience in psychiatry/social psychiatry Experience working with people in complex and emotionally charged situations Experience or knowledge of methods such as ESL (An Independent Life), MI (Motivational Interviewing), or Resima Experience managing threats and violence situations at work Experience with self-harm behaviors Experience with epilepsy Other Information To ensure that the candidates called for interviews are those who best meet the requirements and merits set for the position, we use screening questions.
