Welcome to us We're looking for a special education teacher who wants to work with every child's right to support based on play, security, and respect for the individual child. This position is a one-year temporary contract starting in November 2026. As a special education teacher, you'll be part of our support and development team within the preschool department. The support and development team consists of five special education teachers, one pedagogical developer, one IT coordinator, and one food services coordinator led by an assistant department head. We work to ensure that all children in our municipal preschools are offered sustainable and equitable education based on the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Education Act, the curriculum, and Stockholm City's policy documents. The department consists of 52 preschools divided into five preschool areas with a total of 17 preschool units. The principal leads the preschool area together with the assistant principals and administrative manager of the preschool units. What we offer We offer good wellness opportunities. Job Description In your role as a special education teacher, you'll support the preschools based on every child's right to support. This means you'll work closely with preschool teachers, childcare workers, assistant principals, and principals. You'll also collaborate with external professionals such as rehabilitation specialists and speech-language pathologists. The assignment includes guidance and consultation at the organizational, group, and individual levels. You'll work on competency development based on needs through lectures, workshops, and support to the area's leadership groups on various development processes. You'll also provide support to preschool teachers and childcare workers in documentation work and conversations with guardians. The role includes handling applications for additional funding for extraordinary interventions together with the assistant department head and managing filing in the document and case management system eDok. You'll also monitor developments in the field of special education in preschools. Qualifications We're looking for someone who has: A preschool teacher degree or teacher degree for younger ages. A special education degree. Experience in preschool activities and solid knowledge of preschool policy documents. Experience with guidance and development of pedagogical assessments and action plans. Good computer skills. Experience with digital tools. Good communication skills and express yourself well in Swedish both verbally and in writing. It's meriting if you have: Worked with handling additional funding applications. Worked with document and case management systems, such as eDok (Platina). Training in supervision. Experience working with neurodevelopmental disabilities. You have excellent collaboration skills and are clear in your communication, ensuring messages get through. You work independently and take initiative in your work to discover new opportunities and are active in the area's development processes. You have excellent ability to plan, organize, and prioritize your work efficiently and independently. You're curious, creative, and solution-focused, and not afraid to try new methods.
