We are looking for personal assistants for our 6-year-old son, who needs support and presence in his daily life. He is a curious and active boy with lots of personality, and his daily routine can look very different from day to day. For him, it's important to have trusted people around him who can create structure, predictability, and calm, while also making room for play, activity, and spontaneity.
This is a job for someone who wants to make a real difference and understands that personal assistance is about creating security, enabling participation, and helping a person make their daily life work in their own way.
The daily routine is active and varied and can include school, activities, outings, car rides, and time at home. As an assistant, you therefore need to be prepared to be both active and responsive – sometimes taking the lead and sometimes stepping back and giving space.
We are looking for someone who has:
Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and in comprehension
Experience with NPF, especially autism and PDA
Driver's license (Category B)
Experience with tube feeding is a merit
Experience with TAKK and visual supports is a merit
A low-affect, respectful, and clear manner
The ability to stay calm and secure even in situations that can change quickly
The ability to be consistent and follow routines and agreed-upon working methods
Great sense of responsibility and genuine commitment
About You
You are confident in yourself and have a good ability to read both situations and the person you work with. You understand the importance of adapting communication, expectations, and manner based on how the person is doing and their needs.
You need to be able to stay calm when things become intense and understand that it's not always the right time to make demands or push. At the same time, you need to be clear, anticipatory, and able to take your own initiative when needed.
You are someone who likes to create structure and security, but who can also be flexible when plans need to change. You see the person – not just the disability – and have a genuine interest in getting to know our son, his way of communicating, and what works for him.
The work involves great responsibility, and it's important that you are thorough, reliable, and can follow instructions. You also need to understand the importance of preparing for activities and keeping track of the practical details around them.
Personal suitability will carry significant weight. The right person is more important than a long CV.
