Description We are now recruiting two student assistants for Kungsladugårdsskolan adapted primary school! Kungsladugårdsskolan is an F-6 school with approximately 620 students. Our organization also includes an adapted primary school with approximately 35 students. The school is located in Majorna with proximity to many beautiful areas, including Slottsskogen and Svaleboskogen. It is also easy to get into the city and Gothenburg's southern archipelago by tram and bus. Kungsladugårdsskolan's basic philosophy is that all children belong to everyone. The adapted primary school has 36 students divided into five classes, one of which follows subject-based learning and the others follow subject area-based learning. As things currently stand, your primary placement will be in a subject area-based class. Job Responsibilities As a student assistant, you are part of a class work team with a classroom teacher, leisure time teacher, and student assistants. You support students both during the school day and during leisure time. You work on building relationships with students, are attentive to their needs, and support them with schoolwork, activities, transitions, as well as hygiene and restroom visits. You collaborate with colleagues, guardians, and other people in the student's life. You can both handle daily routines and participate in developing methods and routines so that students develop as much as possible. Qualifications We are looking for someone with upper secondary education, preferably in Children and Leisure or Care and Health. You need to be able to express yourself fluently in Swedish in both speech and writing. It is also a requirement that you have worked with people who have intellectual disabilities at different developmental levels as well as people with neuropsychiatric disabilities. It is advantageous if you have: Knowledge of sign language such as Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC). Experience with visual teaching strategies and picture supports. A supplementary education in the field of adapted primary school, such as student assistant or support assistant. It is also advantageous to have knowledge and experience working with people who have diabetes, epilepsy, require tube feeding, etc. The students need support in social interaction, communication, and care. You therefore need to be secure, calm, and stable as a person. You are relationship-building and have a professional approach to students, colleagues, and guardians. You have good collaboration skills and are receptive to your colleagues. You reflect on ethics and values-based issues. You have great commitment and a good ability to see each student's possibilities and needs. You stay one step ahead. To motivate, inspire, and challenge students, you use your ability to show humility, warmth, and set boundaries. You are receptive, flexible, and have patience.
