Description Lundenskolan is an F-9 school with an adapted primary school for grades 1-9. Approximately 47 students attend the adapted primary school, studying both traditional subjects and subject areas. The adapted school also has an after-school program and childcare through KTS. We strive to be active in our local area and conduct many field trips. The focus of our operations is education. We are now seeking new colleagues to join us as teaching assistants. Duties As a teaching assistant in adapted primary school, you provide support to students throughout the entire school day, including the after-school program. You work together with colleagues to create a safe, clear, and developmental school day for all students. The position involves varied and diverse tasks. Your duties include helping students find focus during instruction and adapting teaching so that all students learn according to their abilities. In addition to supporting students in instructional settings, you also support them in other learning situations such as: assisting students during breaks, at mealtimes, in changing rooms, on field trips, and more. We use low-arousal approaches to create safety and study time. In the after-school program, you help plan and deliver activities. It is important that you have the ability to participate actively in activities when students are present, which requires good physical fitness. For example, you are expected to participate in the water during swimming lessons/sessions. The position includes care assistance for students who need it. With us, all students are everyone's responsibility, and a position may change over time. Therefore, it is important that you are comfortable working with both younger students and middle school students, in both traditional subjects and subject areas. Qualifications You have relevant education in child and youth work, or other education and/or experience deemed equivalent by the employer. You have experience working in adapted primary school or in similar roles with children and young people. You have knowledge of intellectual disability and its impact on students' learning and development. Further, you have experience with: - documenting, following up, and evaluating/reflecting. - good communication with guardians and experience collaborating with external partners such as social services, emergency homes, and LSS residences. - the Swedish language, and you speak and write it fluently and without limitation. - a genuine interest in working with children and young people. - participating in swimming and being able to participate in floor activities. It is advantageous to have education or experience working with alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), such as sign language support or visual supports. You are flexible and can adapt your approach and working methods to different situations, with a low-arousal and respectful attitude. You have good collaboration skills and enjoy working together with others. You are solution-focused and see possibilities rather than limitations. You have the ability to remain calm even in challenging situations. You are calm, attentive, and relationship-building, with the ability to see each student's individual needs and strengths.
