Adapted primary school is a distinct educational form designed for students assessed as not having the prerequisites to meet the requirements of regular primary school due to intellectual disabilities. Adapted primary school has its own curriculum, and instruction is tailored to each student's prerequisites and needs. Within the adapted school forms program on Gotland, we teach students in grades 1-9 in adapted primary school and grades 1-4 in adapted upper secondary school. Currently, we have approximately 80 students enrolled in adapted primary school and approximately 40 students enrolled in adapted upper secondary school. We are now seeking to strengthen our operations for younger age groups. Your Responsibilities We are looking for a student assistant with a strong interest in people and the ability to build positive relationships. You will work in the classroom closely with other engaged colleagues and special education teachers during the school day. In the afternoons, you will work in a leisure program at another school with students who need adjustments and care. The work can sometimes be physically demanding and includes some care tasks. Working hours vary but include school days and afternoon leisure activities. Together, you will work using low-stress interaction methods. As a student assistant in adapted primary school, you will work based on each student's development and prerequisites. Students in our school form have intellectual disabilities and are at different developmental levels. Our students need support in various situations throughout the day, including outside the classroom. You will participate throughout the students' school day in collaboration with special education teachers. You will support students in learning and provide the care students need for the school day to function well. You will work based on students' needs, interests, and prerequisites. It is important that you have a low-stress interaction approach and mindset. Who Are You? You should be trained as a childcare worker or equivalent with solid experience working using low-stress methods with children with intellectual and neuropsychiatric disabilities. A driver's license is a plus. It is an asset if you have student assistant training or experience in healthcare/LSS. You are flexible, solution-oriented, and responsive to students' individual prerequisites. You must be calm and pedagogical with great patience and the ability to create security for each student. You have a positive attitude toward the work. You need to be clear in your actions. You speak, read, and write Swedish fluently. The work requires your ability to plan and prioritize your tasks. It is important that you are good at collaborating with others to achieve set goals together. We place great emphasis on previous experience and personal suitability.
