The school has approximately 600 students from preschool class through grade 6, and we also have an adapted primary school with students in grades 1-6. The adapted primary school has approximately 30 students distributed across 5 classes. Students in the adapted primary school have intellectual disabilities and many students also have additional diagnoses such as autism, ADHD, and language disorders. Our students need a slower teaching pace and to be met by calm and secure staff. We use, among other things, visual supports and TAKK signs to clarify tasks, routines, and events for students during school and leisure time. Our students study both subjects and subject areas. We are now seeking a student assistant for our adapted primary school. 1 position(s). JOB DUTIES As a student assistant, you work closely with students during their school and leisure time. You will be part of a work team together with other educators and special education teachers. Teaching is planned by the teacher, but both student assistants and teachers teach the students. As a student assistant, you work both during school hours and during leisure time. We expect an active educator who participates in the students' entire day; in the classroom, during breaks, and in leisure activities. In adapted primary school, students also need support with, for example, getting dressed, meals, play, and help with personal hygiene. Together with the work team, you shall plan and implement education in a way that promotes students' development, health, and well-being. Your task involves meeting all students with respect for their person and providing each student with the conditions to develop confidence and self-esteem. Everyone working in the school shall show respect for the individual and contribute to creating a democratic climate. You shall cooperate with the home and create trusting relationships with both guardians and work colleagues. QUALIFICATIONS Requirements: • Childcare worker, student assistant, or other relevant education or experience Meritorious: • Education in TAKK, AKK, and clarifying pedagogy • Experience working within LSS activities • Experience working with students in need of special support We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
