announces an open competition for the position of Senior Economist (occupation code 2631 02) in the Economics Division of the Finance and Accounting Department at the Central Administration of Talsu novada pašvaldība
Responsibilities:
participate in municipal budget planning, preparation, and execution control;
conduct financial data analysis, monitor budget execution, and identify deviations;
prepare proposals for budget changes and improvements to financial processes;
collaborate with structural units and institutions on budget planning and execution matters;
participate in the preparation, evaluation, and control of estimates;
prepare financial reports and statements for municipal management and state institutions;
consult employees on budget planning and financial matters;
participate in financial process improvement and development initiatives;
collaborate in projects, working groups, and commissions within your area of expertise.
Requirements:
Level 2 higher education or a bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the position, supplemented with additional training related to job duties;
no less than two years of experience in municipal financial planning and data analysis;
strong skills in budget planning, execution analysis, and financial data evaluation;
ability to analyze financial information, identify problems, and propose solutions;
understanding of accounting principles and regulatory acts, including the application of EKK;
strong proficiency with MS Excel and other financial/accounting systems;
strong communication and collaboration skills, ability to advise colleagues on financial matters;
attention to detail, high sense of responsibility, and analytical thinking;
ability to independently organize work and take initiative in process improvement.
