We are looking for an experienced operations engineer with solid technical knowledge in district heating and district cooling who wants to develop and optimize daily operations. WORK TASKS As an operations engineer, you have a central role in ensuring safe, stable, and cost-effective production and distribution of district heating and district cooling. You work closely with operations technicians and management and function as technical support in both daily operations and in longer-term improvement and investment matters. Your main work tasks include: Responsibility for monitoring and optimizing production and distribution Optimize facility operations based on power requirements, energy efficiency, economy, and environment Monitor and analyze temperatures, pressures, flows, power, and other operational parameters Analyze operational disruptions and conduct technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis Plan and follow up on preventive and corrective maintenance Ensure that operating instructions, procedures, and maintenance plans are current and followed Work with operational forecasts, production planning, statistics, and key performance indicators Develop work methods and maintenance systems for increased operational reliability and availability Initiate and drive technical improvement measures Participate in preliminary studies, investments, reconstructions, and technical projects Coordinate technical efforts with internal resources, suppliers, and contractors Follow up on regulatory requirements, inspections, and other requirements related to production facilities Contribute to a safe work environment and high technical standards in operations The role requires that you understand the relationship between production facilities, boilers, pumps, heat exchangers, control systems, and distribution networks and how changes in one part of the system affect the whole. This systems understanding is central to the position. PERSONAL QUALITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who is technically skilled and comfortable in an environment where operational reliability, problem-solving, and quick technical assessments are a natural part of everyday work. To succeed in the role, it is a requirement that you have: Relevant engineering education, for example in energy, mechanical engineering, operations engineering, marine engineering, or equivalent Multiple years of relevant work experience in district heating, district cooling, combined heat and power, or energy production Documented technical experience with district heating and/or district cooling systems Good understanding of production, distribution, and operational optimization Experience with technical troubleshooting and analysis of operational problems Experience with operational and maintenance planning Ability to read and understand technical documentation, process diagrams, and operating instructions Good knowledge of Swedish and English It is advantageous to have knowledge in: Combustion and boiler technology Control and regulation technology Automation and SCADA systems Environmental and emission requirements Certification as a boiler operator You are solution-oriented, structured, and responsible and have the ability to maintain the big picture even when complex technical problems need to be solved. You enjoy collaboration but are also comfortable making technical decisions independently. ABOUT THE POSITION This is a technically qualified role with significant impact on daily production. You get to work close to both people and facilities and become an important link between operations, maintenance, technology, and management.
