WORK DUTIES
As a member of the Operations and Maintenance department, you will perform various work tasks throughout all seasons of the year with a focus on maintaining and servicing public spaces in the city/community and near-city environments. We are now seeking an equipment operator for the Equipment Unit.
The work tasks for this position will primarily be as a driver of the Unit's vehicles according to the Unit's needs.
The Unit's vehicles consist entirely of trucks, crane trucks, tool carriers, wheel loaders, street sweepers, lawn mowers, and tractors, with several vehicles potentially becoming relevant over time. The tasks performed by the Unit range from maintaining street environments and snow and ice removal to lawn mowing and manual work in near-urban forest areas depending on the season.
The majority of the work is done in cooperation and together with other units in the Operations and Maintenance department. We work in groups but also independently during certain periods. You are responsible, together with your colleagues, for ensuring that assigned work tasks are performed correctly and safely. The work requires good cooperation skills, a service mindset, responsibility, and good physical condition. We would like to see that you are curious and interested in working with digital tools in your profession.
The position is full-time and working hours may be arranged for daytime, evening, and weekends depending on the season.
On-call duty during the winter season may be part of the position.
QUALIFICATIONS
You have a secondary or vocational education within construction, vehicles, green space maintenance, or forestry, or alternatively professional experience that the employer deems equivalent.
We require a Category B driver's license for manual transmission and an operator's certificate for wheel loaders as well as work as a road marking supervisor. It is meritorious to have experience and operator's certificates for other vehicles and machinery. You must be fluent in Swedish in speech and writing, and be an experienced user of digital tools such as computers and smartphones as this is part of your daily work.
You are accustomed to and enjoy working both in a team and independently. It is expected that you have a self-driven approach to work and actively contribute to its planning and execution. You demonstrate responsibility and thoroughness in your work tasks. You understand the bigger picture and our common mission. To accomplish our tasks efficiently, we need high cooperation skills, both within units and within the department. We expect you to meet changes in work in a positive and constructive way and to have the ability to be flexible and open to change.
Our Operations and Maintenance department provides service activities, which requires that you have a sense of and desire for service. It is important to have an understanding of diversity and social interaction. You feel comfortable in what we represent and have the ability to treat both colleagues and community members with respect and understanding.
