Do you want to develop and help develop Strängnäs Municipality together with us? We are now seeking a direct procurement specialist for the procurement unit. The Finance Department at Strängnäs Municipality provides the municipality's collective support for budget planning, financial planning, monitoring and forecasting, procurement and purchasing. The Procurement Unit has a cross-functional and strategic role in Strängnäs Municipality. The primary mission is to increase operational and resident value by making good deals. The unit also has responsibility for developing the entire procurement process. It is organized under the Finance Department and currently consists of seven positions, five of which are procurement specialists. With this recruitment, the unit is being strengthened with an additional direct procurement specialist. The workplace is located in the heart of the city within walking distance to bus and train. We have close collaboration within the unit and strive to try new things and continuously improve. RESPONSIBILITIES As one of two direct procurement specialists in the procurement unit, you will be responsible for executing direct procurements and orders within various goods and service areas. You will support the municipality's purchasing operations in their work of formulating request for quotations, evaluating offers and establishing contracts. You will also assist operations with renewed competitive bidding and other forms of orders from existing framework agreements. You will execute certain direct procurements and orders independently. Advisory and training services within the organization, shorter market analyses and preliminary studies, measurement and documentation, work with category management, and to some extent contract monitoring are also tasks included in your role. The job content can to some extent be adapted depending on your interests, competence and experience. It may also be relevant for you to work on a limited basis with larger published procurements. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has: • post-secondary education in procurement/purchasing, economics and/or law, or alternatively work experience that we consider relevant/equivalent, • good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, • excellent ability to express yourself in Swedish in both speech and writing. It is meritorious if you have: • previous relevant work experience, • practical and/or theoretical experience with the Public Procurement Act, • experience in drafting or managing contracts.
