DUTIES Do you want to make a real difference for people living with cognitive illness and their loved ones? We are now seeking an engaged and knowledgeable dementia nurse specialist who wants to help develop future person-centered care and support within our organization. With us, you will have a key role in strengthening quality of life, safety, and self-determination for people with dementia. You will be an important knowledge bearer in the organization and work in both direct patient care, consultative, and development-focused roles. About the Role As a dementia nurse specialist, you will work independently and in close collaboration with nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, care staff, physicians, and external care providers. The role includes, among other things: • supporting early detection of cognitive decline and contributing to basic dementia assessment • providing support and advice to people with cognitive illness and their loved ones • working person-centered based on the individual's life story, habits, values, and wishes • coaching, training, and strengthening licensed personnel and care staff in complex care situations • working systematically with BPSD, SveDem, and preventive measures • leading and developing teamwork around people with cognitive illness • contributing to coordination between municipality, primary care, specialist care, and social services • driving quality and improvement work within the field of cognitive diseases • advocating for equitable, safe, and evidence-based care. This aligns well with the national competency description where the specialist nurse's role includes leading the care process, coaching teams, working preventively, and ensuring person-centered care. QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking a licensed nurse, preferably with specialist training in elderly care or dementia nursing, or alternatively other experience that the employer deems equivalent. You have: • good knowledge of cognitive diseases and their consequences • experience in municipal care and support, preferably elderly care • experience coaching and training colleagues • ability to work independently, consultatively, and in teams • a person-centered approach • interest in business development and improvement work • good communication and teaching skills. As a person, you are confident, attentive, and solution-oriented. You see the whole picture around the individual and find it easy to create trusting relationships.
