We are responsible for governance, monitoring and development of the city's operations based on the vision and budget decided by the City Council. We are just over 390 employees who mainly work on strategic issues that are of great importance to the city's operations. Welcome to us The position is located at the Stockholm City Legal Department, which is part of the City Administration Office. Our clients are the city's boards, departments, companies and foundations. The department's tasks include providing clients with qualified legal advice and services, representing the city as counsel in court proceedings and providing services to the City Council and Municipal Executive Board. We are approximately 60 employees in the department, of which approximately 35 are lawyers. The department is divided into four units – the General Legal Unit, the Social and School Legal Unit, the unit for the City Council and Municipal Executive Board Office – (CF/KS Office) and the Support and Development Unit, which includes the city's Data Protection Officer and whistleblower function. You will inform and advise on the Data Protection Regulation and related legislation. Furthermore, you will serve as a contact person and be a link to the supervisory authority and for data subjects. Part of the work is monitoring the external environment regarding data protection legislation. You report annually to the Municipal Executive Board and on an ongoing basis to the City Director, City Lawyer and the Head of the Support and Development Unit. You have an independent role in the organization but you have the City Lawyer and the Head of the Support and Development Unit as sounding boards and support. Your duties as Data Protection Officer include: Be a knowledge resource regarding the Data Protection Regulation and other applicable data protection legislation. Monitor compliance with the Data Protection Regulation and other applicable data protection legislation as well as data protection governance documents, and identify implementation approaches and areas for improvement. Report to the Municipal Executive Board and the City Administration Office management on data protection issues and development needs, risks and deficiencies. Identify competence development needs, plan and conduct training regarding the Data Protection Regulation and related legislation. Assist in investigating information security incidents involving personal data, both when the Municipal Executive Board is the data controller and as an internal data processor within the city. Provide advice in conducting data protection impact assessments and monitor implementation. Serve as a contact person to data subjects and the Privacy Protection Authority (IMY), and if necessary consult and collaborate with IMY. Coordinate city-wide data protection issues. Your competence and experience We are looking for you who have a law degree (jur.kand.) or equivalent have documented experience working in a similar role as Data Protection Officer, preferably several years are very well versed in data protection legislation and the IT-related aspects of data protection and have a strong interest in further developing within these areas have very good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing It is a merit if you have experience in setting security requirements based on applicable legislation experience and knowledge of municipal operations experience in leading projects, processes and improvement work. The work places high demands on very good analytical ability as you will be an independent support and control function for personal data processing within the Municipal Executive Board's area of responsibility. We see that you are thorough and structured and work to prioritize and solve your assignment efficiently. You should be comfortable working independently as you drive your work on your own and report to management. You also have good collaboration skills, are good at creating contact points and are service-oriented as the role involves being a central contact person regarding privacy protection issues.
