We are entering an exciting period at Sachsska! Our two previous inpatient wards, ward 64 and ward 74, have been merged into one large children's department. In the near future, we will move into new facilities that require a unified team of staff and a well-coordinated leadership team. Currently, two experienced leaders are already in place and are now looking for a third colleague! Job Description On our children's department, we care for patients ranging from newborns to young adults up to 18 years of age, with varying diagnoses and care needs. The variety of ages, diagnoses, families, and their situations provides you with great opportunities for development and broad expertise in caring for children and adolescents requiring acute care. The most common reasons for admission are respiratory difficulties, infections, seizures, and some surgical procedures. We are seeking a leader with strong interest in leadership issues and who enjoys working in a changing environment. You have good ability to utilize and develop your staff's competence and initiative, and you see the importance of creating a good work environment based on collaboration, participation, and communication. As a care unit manager for the children's department, you are the first-line manager for nursing staff on the unit. You are responsible for personnel management, operational development, and planning. The tasks range from leading and delegating work in daily operations to quality and improvement work. You are also responsible for nursing care, work environment, the unit environment, and developing collaboration within your own unit and with partners outside your operational area. As a first-line manager, you report directly to the Area Manager for Sachsska, Fredrik Stenius. You sit, together with all managers at Sachsska, in the management group. You also participate in the management group for your own unit and in the management group for the Acute Care Section, which is part of Sachsska. You managers work together to drive development and integration of the two former departments. You hold APT meetings and important meetings together, but also have your own staff groups and conduct individual staff conversations, etc. Shared leadership offers flexibility, the opportunity to learn from each other, not standing alone in difficult decisions, and hopefully considerable work satisfaction! The position is a permanent full-time employment as a registered nurse with a permanent managerial assignment. Qualifications Your personal qualities include clarity, decision-making ability, and attentiveness. Requirements Registered nurse with specialist education, preferably in pediatrics and adolescents. Meritorious Experience within pediatric care is meritorious. We would like to see that you have management experience. Leadership training and a master's thesis are both meritorious.
