About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking more staff members. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the cycle of crime. When we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, remand detention, and client transport. Probation is correctional supervision that takes place in the community. A probation sentence involves both supervision and support for the sentenced individuals. The probation service's task is to supervise clients sentenced to conditional sentences, protective supervision, youth supervision, community service, and electronic monitoring. The majority of those sentenced to correctional measures are in probation services. Probation services also conduct program activities for clients and pre-trial personal investigations for suspects. The Probation Services Göteborg operational area consists of two probation offices; Probation Services Göteborg Rosenlund and Probation Services Göteborg Ullevi. Approximately 300 employees work at Probation Services Göteborg, and the management group consists of 13 managers who report to Probation Services Director David Sandén.
