Ville Carlssons Åkeri is now seeking a dock worker based in Mariestad with Gothenburg as the primary work area. You'll work Tuesday–Friday, have Mondays off, and stay at a hotel in Gothenburg during your work week. About Us We are an established trucking company with approximately 40 employees and operations at several locations throughout Sweden. Our headquarters is in Östersund, and we also operate in Gothenburg, Jönköping, Karlstad, and Mariestad. As a transport partner to DSV, we currently operate 11 regular routes for cargo transport between multiple locations in Sweden. Job Responsibilities As a dock worker, you'll be based in Mariestad and work in Västra Götaland county, with Gothenburg as your primary work area. You work independently receiving our long-haul trucks and are responsible for ensuring goods are loaded and unloaded at the terminal or directly at the customer's location. You ensure goods are handled safely and efficiently so that transports can continue as scheduled. Your duties include: transporting and delivering goods within Västra Götaland county loading and unloading long-haul trucks at the terminal and customer locations stowing and handling goods in a safe and efficient manner ensuring correct load securing inspecting goods and noting any damage or discrepancies reporting discrepancies and cargo damage planning and executing your routes in a traffic-safe and efficient manner maintaining ongoing contact with customers and colleagues You'll be part of a team of six dock workers who together are responsible for Västra Götaland. Although much of the work is performed independently, you collaborate to ensure transports run smoothly and help each other when needed. About You We're looking for someone who is confident behind the wheel and enjoys independent and varied work. You are conscientious and organized and understand the importance of handling goods carefully, safely, and correctly. In this role, you meet our customers every day. Therefore, it's important that you are service-oriented and have a professional and friendly manner. You can adapt to different situations and communicate clearly with both customers and colleagues. You are also solution-oriented and can handle situations that don't always go according to plan. This might include a customer not being available or delivery conditions changing. You can make your own decisions when the situation requires it and know when you need help. Although you're largely responsible for your own work, you are a team player. You help your colleagues when needed, communicate clearly, and contribute to smooth operations for the entire team. For this position, you must have: CE driver's license valid YKB good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written A forklift license and valid ADR certificate are advantageous. Work Schedule The position follows a fixed schedule from Tuesday to Friday, with the work week consisting of two trips, each trip comprising two work shifts. Shift 1 starts at 05:15 in Mariestad, beginning with unloading goods on the way to Gothenburg. The shift ends in Gothenburg at 16:15 and includes a hotel stay. Shift 2 starts at 09:00, beginning with dock work in Gothenburg and then driving to Mariestad where the shift ends at 20:00.
