The Swedish Crime Victim Authority (Brottsoffermyndigheten) is Sweden's expert agency for crime victim matters. The agency works to improve information and support for crime victims by deciding on crime victim compensation, recovering paid compensation from perpetrators, financing research and crime victim-focused projects through the Crime Victim Fund, and serving as a knowledge center on crime victim issues. The agency is located in central Umeå. A crucial part of a crime victim's recovery is the right to compensation. The agency handles over 14,000 crime victim compensation cases annually and decides on compensation exceeding 280 million kronor per year. Once compensation has been paid out, the agency pursues recovery of as much as possible from the convicted perpetrator. Recovery cases are handled by the Recourse Unit. We are seeking a law graduate to work on the agency's Recourse Unit. Your task will be to handle the agency's claims cases against convicted perpetrators in a collection operation, working closely with other staff members. Your responsibilities include legal work in the areas of claims, enforcement, and execution law. This means you will manage the Crime Victim Authority's claims through direct demands on debtors and claims via Kronofogden (Swedish Enforcement Authority). Your work will include handling issues within debt settlement procedures, preparing payment plans, managing settlement proposals, and drafting various types of statements to courts, Kronofogden, and other agencies. You will participate in appeals processes as well as other court proceedings where our claims need to be handled. You will also have frequent phone contact with debtors and participate in all other tasks occurring in the unit. The work is multifaceted, varied, and demands high work capacity, sound judgment, and versatility. We are looking for someone who: - is positive, engaged, and wants to work in an environment where tasks vary - has the ability to make decisions and make well-considered priorities - expresses yourself well both verbally and in writing - understands that claim handling concerns convicted perpetrators and that contact with them requires special consideration in how you treat them Experience with administrative work at a government agency is a merit. You have good knowledge of the Office package and it is an advantage if you have phone experience. This recruitment concerns a permanent employment with a probationary period, full-time. Start date by agreement. We apply individual salary setting. We strive for diversity and equal gender distribution. Questions about the position are answered by Unit Manager Sten-Håkan Sidebo, 090-70 82 15. For union information, contact Ulrika Forsgren, SACO, 090-70 82 38. Welcome to submit your application by September 27, 2026 via email to [email protected] or by mail to Brottsoffermyndigheten, Box 470, 901 09 Umeå. Include customary application documents including relevant grades and employment references, and state your salary expectations. Mark your application with P 44/26.
