Would you like to make a difference in people's daily lives? As a residential support worker, you support individuals in living an independent and meaningful life based on their own circumstances. Your New Job As a residential support worker, you provide individually tailored support to people with various disabilities and support needs. The work takes place primarily in the individual's home and aims to strengthen independence, participation, and quality of life. You support with daily activities, planning and structure, personal care, and social contacts and community participation. The role also includes motivational and supportive conversations, documentation, and collaboration with family members, authorities, and other actors. Your Competence For the position of residential support worker, a completed upper secondary education program in health and care with specialization in disability services/psychiatry or leisure and youth work with a focus on social work/pedagogical work is required. Alternatively, other education that the employer considers relevant. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and have good reading comprehension, as documentation and communication with citizens, family members, and other actors are important parts of the work. You have experience working with people who have mental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disabilities (NPF), and/or comorbidities. A valid B-class driver's license for manual transmission vehicles is required for this position. We are looking for someone who works independently and takes responsibility for their work tasks. You are flexible and adapt easily to the individual's needs and changing circumstances. You collaborate well with colleagues and other professionals while being confident in making your own decisions. You have an empathetic approach, professional conduct, and a genuine interest in supporting people in their development. The work may involve psychologically demanding situations, which require personal maturity, stability, and the ability to remain calm. You have good physical ability, as the work involves helping with mobility and daily activities. Pets and smoking may be present in some homes. The staff group consists of 20 employees divided into four teams. The residential support workers provide support to approximately 140 residents in the south west area. The service is primarily aimed at people with neurodevelopmental disabilities but also mental disabilities. Residential Support Center has its base location at Kungsängsvägen 5. The staff group consists of eleven employees. The residential support workers provide support to approximately 80 residents. The service is primarily aimed at people with mental and/or neurodevelopmental disabilities. The service operates based on decisions from case managers. Solo work is common. Good to Know The recruitment concerns two full-time temporary positions. Start date for the positions is by agreement. Working hours are scheduled during daytime and evening, weekdays and weekends. Jönköping Municipality aims for full-time as the norm and always offers 100% employment rate. We work with shared planning, which means work with multiple residents may become relevant.
