WORK DUTIES As a support assistant in residential support, you work closely with people in their everyday lives and provide individually tailored practical, social and educational support based on needs, circumstances and goals. You are an important day-to-day support that contributes to security, structure and increased independence. In your work, you use methods and approaches such as clarifying pedagogy, cognitive support, motivational interviewing (MI), person-centered working methods and low-arousal interaction to strengthen the individual's ability to manage everyday life. You also actively work to create structures and routines that provide predictability and facilitate an independent life. The work is carried out in the user's home or in the local community and can include support with everyday tasks, planning and social contacts. Support can also involve contact with authorities or performing financial tasks such as paying bills. Residential support is a flexible and varied job where the user's needs are at the center. The role includes providing practical and social support in the home, motivating and strengthening the individual's own abilities, and creating security, structure and predictability in daily life. You work based on care decisions, implementation plans and individual goals, document according to applicable procedures and legislation, and collaborate with users, family members and colleagues to ensure professional and quality support. You meet people with various support needs, for example due to mental health issues, neuropsychiatric diagnoses or substance abuse problems. Your task is to support the individual in managing everyday life and strengthen the ability to live as independently as possible.
